Please click here to apply internally.\nThis role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Makena Golf & Beach Club, set on Maui, HI.Makena is seeking a Food and Beverage Manager to join the Food and Beverage Department.\nThe Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for the leadership and coordination of the F&B Operation. Primarily taking responsibility for all outlets which encompass casual dining to fine dining experiences within the club. The F&B Manager will work with the team to ensure all guests receive exceptional and genuine service at all times, reflective of international luxury service standards. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.\nResponsibilities\nManages day-to-day operations, ensures the quality, standards and meets the expectations of the members on a daily basis.\n\nHire and train new team members.\n\nManage schedules and payroll for team members.\n\nDisplays excellent customer service and creates a positive atmosphere for members and employees.\n\nImproves service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand member needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching and/or corrective action when needed.\n\nHandles member opportunities and complaints.\n\nMeets with members on an informal basis during meals or upon departure to obtain feedback on quality of food and beverage, service levels and overall satisfaction.\n\nUnderstands employee positions well enough to perform duties if needed.\n\nReviews staffing levels to ensure that the member service, operational needs and financial objectives are met.\n\nPerforms other duties as assigned by management.\n\nProvides the leadership, vision and direction to bring together and prioritize the departmental goals in a way that will be efficient and effective and align with the quality and level of service Discovery Land Company is known for.\n\nEnsures compliance with all food & beverage policies, standards and procedures by training, supervising, follow-up and hands on management.\n\nEnsures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.\n\nEnsures staff understands local, state and Federal liquor laws.\n\nEstablishes guidelines/training for front of house food and beverage operations.\n\nReport to work on time and as scheduled.\n\nFollow and enforce all safety policies.\n\nComply with all Company policies and procedures.\n\nAny and all other duties deemed necessary by a member of management.\n\nExperience\nDemonstrates respect for and appreciation of Hawaiian values, history and culture, understanding its implication in one’swork, in fostering meaningful relationships, and in embracing the community served.\n\nA minimum of 5 years in food beverage, leadership and private club experience preferred.\n\nFood and beverage and catering experience preferred.\n\nPositive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication both oral and written.\n\nProficient in Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, and Outlook.\n\nExperience working both independently and, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.\n\nAttention to detail.\n\nAbility to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.\n\nAbility to listen and respond to multiple players, providing feedback and recommendations as required to meet project needs most effectively.\n\nAbility to work with a diverse team.\n\nKnowledgeable of HACCP & local food safety standards.\nStrong proven leadership abilities and vision for quality and excellence in hotel operations.\nKnowledge of various Operations and POS Softwares (JONAS, TEI, etc).\nAbility to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.\n\nThis job description may not comprise all duties, responsibilities or skills that may be required to be performed.
