Please click here to apply internally.\nJoin the Discovery family, where quality and service are at the heart of everything we do!This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Maverick Golf and Ranch Club, located in Fort Worth, Texas.\nMaverick Golf and Ranch Club is seeking an Irrigation Technician to join the Golf Course Maintenance Department. The Irrigation Technician will work closely with the Director of Agronomy and Assistant Superintendents. They will be responsible for supervising and performing all golf course maintenance irrigation practices and repairs. The Irrigation Technician will be part of developing a brand new Tom Fazio designed golf course, and will be heavily involved in the quality control of irrigation installation performed by the contractor. The state of the art system will feature a two wire Toro Smarthub system, with HDPE piping and a 4500 GPM Watertronics pump station. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.\nKey Responsibilities\nOversees the new installation of irrigation system, ensuring quality control and contractor performance in accordance with the design and installation specifications\n\nResponsible for maintaining and repairing the irrigation equipment for the golf course, which includes sprinklers, water lines, pumps, valves and electrical components.\n\nMaintaining all irrigation systems by monitoring and evaluating overall performance of the irrigation system.\n\nInputs and maintains accurate data in the central control computer system.\n\nRepairs sprinklers and pipes on the golf course, when needed, while regularly checking the conditions of the equipment, and keeping them clean and adjusted for the course.\n\nAble to work without supervision on a range of irrigation maintenance on a day to day basis.\n\nMaintains inventory of parts needed and associated with the irrigation system and orders new parts when needed.\n\nAssists in precision hand watering of putting greens and other turf surfaces.\n\nAids in other day to day needs on the golf course maintenance team as assigned.\n\nQualifications\nMinimum of 5 years of experience.\n\nMinimum of 3 years of experience in golf course irrigation installation and repair.\n\nMinimum of 3 years of experience in operating golf course irrigation equipment.\n\nAdditional Requirements\nPositive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.\n\nAbility to work in a team environment.\n\nAbility to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.\n\nAbility to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and a shift greater than eight (8) hours in length.\n\nAbility to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.\n\nAbility to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.\n\nBenefits\nCompetitive Pay\n\nMedical, Dental, and Vision Benefits (Full-Time Year Round Only)\n\n401k Contribution (Full-Time Year Round Only)\n\nPaid Time Off and Paid Holidays (Full-Time Year Round Only)\n\nHoliday Pay\n\nWork-Family Culture\n\nMaverick seamlessly blends classic Western charm and modern luxury, providing a world-class golf experience accentuated by its rare 90 feet of elevation change.
