It is an exciting business to be in as we reimagine the way retirement savings and life insurance is brought to companies and employees.\n\nKey Purpose of the role \r\nThe primary purpose of this role is to conduct quality audits of critical business processes. Across the business and provide a DPMO (Defects Per Million Opportunities) score for work processed within Discovery Life Group Risk. The role plays a key part in driving continuous improvement by identifying process gaps, risks, and opportunities, and by recommending innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and the quality of outputs. To be successful in this role, you will require strong analytical and technical capabilities, particularly advanced Microsoft Excel skills, as well as excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You must be detail-oriented, able to interpret complex information, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with demanding deadlines.\r\n\nAreas of responsibility may include but not limited to\r\n\nConduct quality audits across critical business processes within the Discovery Life Group Risk area\n\nConduct risk-based audits taking cognisance of business rules, process protocols and guidelines, compliance, legislative and regulatory requirements\n\nProvide error trend analysis and feedback reports on issues identified\n\nCompile daily/ weekly/ monthly stats\n\nNeed to align quality assurance standards across Discovery (where applicable)\n\nSound understanding of the Group Risk products and business processes\n\nHave a good understanding of the business rules and check for correct application of these when work is processed or when information is provided to clients\n\nNeed to understand and know the application of Compliance and Legislative requirements within the product offering and business processes\n\nStay abreast of quality assurance best practice adopted within other areas across Discovery\n\nAdhoc data analysis and reporting\n\nApplication of the Lean Six Sigma methodology in quality audits\n\nIdentifying areas of concern and system related issues\n\nPreparing DPMO assessment sheets and reports on audit findings for various departments\n\nDefining opportunities for processes or cases to be audited\n\nFeedback business on audit findings\n\nAbility to map business processes in accordance with the standard operating procedure (SOP) methodology adopted within Discovery\n\nOngoing maintenance of SOP’s for all business processes\n\nConduct bi-annual iQS audits across Discovery Life and Invest business areas\n\nParticipation in DNV external audits\n\nPersonal Attributes and Skills \r\nThe successful candidate must demonstrate the following competencies: \n\nAnalytical and problem solving abilities\n\nMethodical and attention to detail\n\nNumerical ability to compile stats\n\nAble to take initiative and exercise sound judgment and decision making\n\nAbility to prioritise and organise effectively\n\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills to discuss QA feedback at all levels of management\n\nAssertive and a team player yet able to work independently\n\nAble to take ownership and responsibility for the function\n\nAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlines\n\nStrong oral and written communication skills\n\nUnderstanding of complex Excel formulas, pivot tables, graphs and macro’s.\n\nAdvanced knowledge and experience in the MS Office products, including Excel, Access and PowerPoint- Deliver informative, well-organized information.\n\nUnderstand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.\n\nAbility to analyze and interpret data.\n\nAbility to manage multiple tasks\n\nGood data mapping, data mining and data tracking abilities.\n\nStrong trouble shooting abilities.\n\nAccurately prepares written business correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective and professional.\n\nGenerates innovative solutions by approaching problems with curiosity and open mindedness, using existing information to its fullest potential.\n\nAbility to work with accuracy and to strict deadlines.\n\nEducation and Experience\r\n\nMatric with Maths. \n\nMS Office experience especially Excel (Vlook-up) and Compass.\n\nGroup Life/Risk Insurance experience.\n\n3 to 5 years working experience within a Group Life Administration environment\n\nEMPLOYMENT EQUITY \n\nThe Company’s approved Employment Equity Plan and Targets will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
