Visit https://disti.com/ to learn more.\nThis is an onsite role in our Orlando office.\nPosition Overview\nThe Material Coordinator manages procurement, inventory control, logistics, and supplier relationships to support engineering and production operations. This role ensures timely availability of materials, parts, and equipment while maintaining cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, and effective cross-functional collaboration.\nKey Responsibilities\nProcurement & Ordering\nSource materials, parts, and components per Bills of Material (BOMs)\nRequest quotes (RFQs/RFPs), negotiate pricing and terms, and compare vendor proposals\nCreate Purchase Requisitions in Costpoint and coordinate with Accounting to issue Purchase Orders\nMaintain approved vendor lists and standardized equipment lists\nInventory & Logistics\nTrack stock levels, tag assets, and maintain asset lists in Costpoint\nMonitor Customer Furnished Equipment (CFE) and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE)\nPerform cycle counts and inventory audits\nReceive, inspect, log, and stock incoming hardware\nExpedite deliveries, coordinate shipments, and ensure material readiness for production\nSupplier & Cost Management\nMaintain vendor relationships and track supplier performance\nResolve quality issues, process returns (RMAs), and onboard new suppliers\nProcess invoices in BILL.COM and coordinate with accounting for payment approvals\nTrack material costs against budget and identify cost-saving opportunities\nSupport proposal and cost estimating teams\nCompliance & Documentation\nMaintain material traceability records and certifications\nEnsure compliance with DFARS and other contract requirements\nMaintain QA ISO audit requirements and documentation\nUpdate material status in ERP/MRP systems\nCross-Functional Coordination\nInterface with Engineering on design changes and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)\nSupport Production with material readiness and communication constraints\nCollaborate with Systems Engineering, Quality, and Program Management teams\nValidate hardware specifications and provide ROM estimates\nQualifications\nExperience with procurement, inventory management, or supply chain coordination\nProficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Costpoint experience preferred)\nStrong negotiation and vendor management skills\nKnowledge of government contracting requirements (DFARS) and compliance standards\nExcellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills\nKey Systems\nCostpoint (ERP/MRP), BILL.COM, Asset Management System, Microsoft Office Suite\nPhysical and Other Requirements:\nAbility to work at a computer for extended periods and participate in regular communications with remote and local teams.\nOccasional travel is required according to project needs.\nPlease note that this job description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee in their role.
