The ideal candidate has strong mechanical inspection experience, excellent GD&T and blueprint reading skills, and the confidence to work directly with machinists, supervisors, engineering, and management.\nWhat You'll Do\nPerform in-process and floor audits at CNC machines and throughout the manufacturing area.\nVerify machinists are using the correct blueprint revisions, tooling, CNC programs, and Net-Inspect information.\nReview parts and dimensions using precision inspection equipment.\nVerify inspection tools and gauges-including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, thread gauges, dial indicators, air gauges, and CNC probes-are properly calibrated and used.\nReview SOPs, traveler routing sheets, and manufacturing processes for compliance.\nInvestigate first-article and inspection discrepancies using available measurement equipment.\nReview previous quality issues, scrap information, SPC trends, and Net-Inspect data to identify potential problems.\nMonitor 5S, safety, and FOD prevention throughout the manufacturing floor.\nDocument audit findings and maintain daily audit/shift records.\nParticipate in root cause analysis and CAPA activities, including the use of 5 Whys.\nCommunicate quality trends and recurring issues to machinists, programmers, shop foremen, Engineering, and Quality.\nHelp train employees on proper inspection equipment use and manufacturing principles.\nWhat We're Looking For\nRequired:\n5+ years of mechanical inspection experience\nStrong GD&T and complex blueprint reading skills\nExperience with precision measurement and inspection equipment\nKnowledge of surface plate setup and inspection techniques\nStrong understanding of shop math and mechanical principles\nAbility to use and interpret SPC and Six Sigma tools\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills\nAbility to remain objective and unbiased when conducting audits\nPreferred:\nCMM experience\nKnowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, or AS9102\nExperience with problem-solving and corrective action\nCQT or CMI certification\nExperience with Net-Inspect\nSpanish language skills\nThe Right Person Will Be\nAnalytical - able to identify trends, investigate discrepancies, and determine root causes. People-Oriented - comfortable working with employees at all levels while maintaining professionalism and tact. Objective - able to conduct unbiased audits and focus on company and customer requirements. Hands-On - confident using inspection equipment and investigating manufacturing issues. A Strong Communicator - able to clearly explain findings, provide feedback, and help employees improve.\nWork Environment\nThis position works in a machine shop/manufacturing environment with exposure to manufacturing equipment and noise.
