The goal is to build software that feels like it was made for someone, and that leaves\npeople with something after they use it. Your job would be to change how a product feels using\nvisual patterns, motion, and interaction texture no one else in the category would have\ninvented. If that is already how you approach the work, this role is built for you.\nAbout Divami\nDivami is a design partner to product companies working on hard, high-stakes problems in AI-first\nplatforms, enterprise SaaS, financial products, and category-defining tools. Our clients do not come to us\nfor polish. They come to us because their product needs to feel unmistakable rather than like every\nother tool in its category, and we build the visual language that gets them there.\nThe role\nYou would author the visual and interaction language of a product from first principles. That work begins\nwith study, spending real time inside the domain, the environment, and the personas moving through it.\nYou learn how they think, what they already know, and what tends to overwhelm them. Only then does\nthe direction become obvious, and you build something no one else in the category would have built.\nYou keep it coherent while you move fast, and you can defend the choice when it feels unfamiliar.\nWhat you’ll create\nA brand that couldn’t be anyone else’s. The unmistakable visual voice of the product, built for its\ndomain and the moment the product exists in. A logo dropped onto a template will not carry this\nweight, and neither will a palette borrowed from a mood board.\nThe one moment of feeling. Every product has one place where the user is supposed to feel\nsomething specific, whether that is trust, delight, relief, or momentum. You find that moment and\ndesign the whole experience around it. Every other screen serves it.\nPatterns nobody has used yet. This is not novelty for its own sake. The category-default answer,\nwhether that is the dashboard-with-KPIs, the wizard-in-modal, or the settings-panel-with-toggles,\nusually leaves value on the table. You push past the expected and invent what actually fits.\nA visual hierarchy that matches how this user actually thinks. A data scientist scanning numbers\ndoes not need the same hierarchy an explorer browsing offers needs. You segment users by\ncognition, tech-savviness, and mental model rather than by demographics, and you design\ndifferently for each.\nThe interaction texture. Micro-interactions, motion, transitions, system acknowledgments,\ngamification, and data-viz choices. These are the small moments that turn a metric into something\nmeaningful rather than just a number on a screen.\nA brand identity earned from the domain. The industry’s realities, the environment users move\nthrough, and the emotional stakes of the work all get translated into a system that feels earned\nrather than applied.\nDesign systems that hold their shape. Components, tokens, and patterns disciplined enough that\nother designers pick them up and use them without rework, whether you are still on the project or\nnot.\nAI-directed craft. You treat generative tools as sketchbook and provocation rather than as the\nanswer itself. You feed them narrow context (research, personas, visual references), critique what\ncomes back, and hold the holistic view AI cannot see on its own.\nHow you’ll think\nResearch is fuel for a point of view. It is not a deliverable in itself. You study the industry,\nenvironment, workflow, and emotional stakes before opening Figma, because everything\ndownstream turns into guesswork otherwise.\nCognition is the constraint. A user’s tech-savviness, cognitive load, attention budget, and mental\nmodels set the shape of what you can design. You take them seriously enough to let them change\nyour first idea.\nOpinionated, not compliant. You treat stakeholder input and AI output as inputs to a decision rather\nthan as the decision itself. When your reasoning holds up, you hold the line with that reasoning\nrather than with defensiveness.\nVisual freshness is a claim, not a decoration. It is how the product tells the world it is not like the\nothers. You make freshness deliberate, defensible, and grounded in the domain.\nDisciplined even when fast. You keep design systems, layout, and typographic hierarchy rigorous\neven when generating quickly. When AI is in the loop, the system tends to loosen without anyone\nnoticing, and yours should not.\nProactive vision. You visualize the full product experience before prompting or building anything,\nrather than working screen by screen and hoping it holds together.\nThe craft\nUI and visual design mastery. Color theory, typography, iconography, illustration style, motion,\nlayout, and hierarchy. Craft you can defend on principle rather than just on intuition.\nBrand identity design. Turning a domain understanding into a visual system that could belong to no\nother product.\nDesign systems from foundation to expert level. Components, variables, tokens, and governance.\nSystems that scale without going stale.\nPersona-based design thinking. Research that becomes direction rather than documentation. Users\nunderstood by how they think, not by who they are.\nDirected prompting of generative AI tools for design. Context-setting, visual referencing, and\niterative critique. AI as an amplifier of your point of view rather than a substitute for it.\nInnovation judgment. Knowing when to invent, when to iterate, and when the safe answer is\ngenuinely the right one. You can defend all three calls.\nSignals we look for\nThese are patterns we watch for in how you talk about past work rather than items to tick off a checklist.\nYour portfolio doesn’t repeat itself. Each project looks like it was made for its domain rather than\nadapted from the last one.\nYou can name a moment. In a past product, the one point where the user was supposed to feel\nsomething, and you can describe exactly how you designed for it.\nYou have a pattern you invented. Something you made because the category default was not good\nenough, rather than a design system you assembled from someone else’s tokens.\nYou describe personas by how they think. Cognitive load, mental models, and tech-savviness\nmatter more than job titles and demographics.\nYou direct AI. You have a clear view on when it helps the work and when it flattens it. First-pass\noutput is a starting point, never the answer.\nYou have held the line. You can point to a moment you pushed past the safe answer and shipped\nthe disruptive one because the reasoning held, and it worked.\nQualifications\n7 to 10 years in UI, product, or brand design across multiple industry domains such as enterprise,\nmanufacturing, SaaS, fintech, or healthtech.\nA portfolio demonstrating a distinct visual voice per project rather than a single repeated house\nstyle. We look for range as much as depth.\nReal project experience using AI-assisted design workflows (mood boards, HTML prototyping,\ngenerative tools) inside a delivery pipeline, not just as side experiments.\nExecutive-room confidence. You can walk a CXO through a disruptive direction, take a hard\npushback, and reframe the room without getting defensive.\nWhy this role\nAuthorship, not execution. You define the design direction rather than apply someone else’s.\nA new domain every quarter. AI-first platforms, enterprise tools, financial products, and\nindustry-defining software. Range that compresses years of learning.\nAI in a real pipeline. You would direct generative tools inside client work, shaping how the whole\npractice uses them.\nRoom to shape how we work, not just what we ship. If you have opinions about how design should\nbe practiced, we want them on the table.","description_format":"text","description_chars":7806,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":7,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["UI/UX Design","Custom Software Development"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-26T09:37:17Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":0,"expected_fill_days":36,"reasons":["conf:0","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-27T05:46:45Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/divami-design-labs-emotional-designer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/divami-design-labs-emotional-designer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-28T04:18:33Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":5638,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-29T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":3800235},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=3800235"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fdivami-design-labs-emotional-designer"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fdivami-design-labs-emotional-designer"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fdivami-design-labs-emotional-designer"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/divami-design-labs-emotional-designer\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fdivami-design-labs-emotional-designer"}]}
