Leveraging advanced technologies - including Allen-Bradley PLCs, Ignition SCADA, and Delta DDC systems - we combine deep technical expertise with field-tested execution to deliver precise, scalable, and high-performance solutions.\nAbout the role:\nThe Safety Technician is a field-focused, non-exempt role responsible for supporting the day-to-day execution of safety requirements on active job sites involving the installation, commissioning, and servicing of low-voltage Building Automation and Management Systems (BAS/BMS). This role works directly alongside field technicians, supervisors, and project managers to observe work activities, identify hazards, reinforce safe work practices, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E, NEC, and company safety policies. The Jobsite Safety Technician does not design safety programs but plays a critical role in implementing, monitoring, and documenting safety compliance in the field.\nKey Responsibilities:\nConduct regular safety audits and job site inspections on BAS/BMS low voltage projects to ensure adherence to company and regulatory safety standards.\nSupport site-specific safety plans (SSSPs) and job hazard analyses (JHAs) for new and ongoing installations and service projects.\nInvestigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; lead root cause analysis and recommend corrective/preventive actions.\nMaintain records of safety inspections, incident reports, training logs, and corrective actions.\nCoordinate with subcontractors and ensure their compliance with company safety protocols.\nAssist in developing and enforcing safe work procedures aligned with NFPA, NEC, OSHA 1910/1926, and other industry-specific standards.\nServe as a safety point of contact for field personnel and provide guidance on daily safety practices.\nQualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nMinimum 3 years of experience in safety within construction, HVAC, electrical, or low voltage systems.\nStrong working knowledge of OSHA 1910/1926, NFPA 70E, NEC, and related standards.\nProficiency in hazard recognition, risk mitigation, and job site safety enforcement.\nValid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to lead safety meetings.\nAttention to detail and strong organizational skills.\nComfortable working in fast-paced environments and adapting to changing project needs.\nOSHA 30 certification obtained within the past two (2) years is required.\nIf certification is not current or has not been completed, OSHA 30 training will be provided and must be successfully completed within the first week of employment.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nOSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification.\nNFPA 70E\nFirst Aid/CPR/AED Certification.\nBAS/BMS or low voltage systems experience (HVAC controls, access control, fire alarm, or similar).\nPhysical Requirements:\nTravel is required to work sites within the region.\nField and office work required, including exposure to active construction and retrofit sites.\nOvertime may be required based on project demands.\nMay involve climbing ladders, working in mechanical/electrical rooms, and exposure to low voltage electrical systems.\nUse hands and fingers to operate standard equipment and tools.\nLift, carry, push, or pull objects and materials weighing up to 50 pounds \nHave sufficient vision (with or without correction) to read computer screens, printed documents, and small print; and sufficient hearing to communicate effectively by phone and in person.\nBenefits & Total Rewards:\nOpportunities for GrowthHands-on training and career advancement in an exploding data-center industry.\n\nMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceWe cover 100% of individual medical premiums and help offset the cost of family coverage.\n\n401K with Employer MatchEligible after 90 days, with company matching to help you invest in your future. \n\nDisability CoverageBoth short- and long-term disability insurance provided at no cost to our employees. \n\nFlexible PTOTake time off when you need it, no accruing time necessary.\n\nField-Based Employee BenefitsFor eligible field-based roles that require travel, Divcon covers all business travel expenses and provides a per diem, phone allowance, tools, and PPE at no cost.
