If you're looking to grow your career within an extremely reputable, stable Fortune 100 company - let's talk!\nPosition Overview\nAs an Autonomy Systems Engineer on the Surface Loading Autonomy team, you will help develop the next generation of autonomous machines for the construction industry, including excavators, wheel loaders, and articulated trucks. You will be responsible for integrating autonomy solutions with the base machine - helping define the requirements and system architecture that bring autonomous machine systems together, working hands-on with a wide range of onboard electronics in both lab and on-machine environments, and coordinating with other teams to implement, validate, and demonstrate autonomous solutions.\nTeam & Work Environment\nOnsite position, split between hands-on machine work at the proving ground and office-based work\nPart of a 6-10 person engineering team supporting a larger autonomy program with team members across multiple locations\nPPE (safety glasses, safety shoes, and reflective vest) will be provided\nKey Responsibilities\nInstall, commission, and test autonomy hardware on machine\nFlash software on machine and validate proper functionality\nSupport prototype and test machine builds and updates\nPerform live monitoring of CAN and Ethernet traffic on the machine and validate data\nTroubleshoot connectivity and data issues as they arise, including debugging and correcting wiring, harness, sensor, positioning-system, and time synchronization issues\nPartner with machine development teams, on machine, to determine the best way to deliver autonomous features and resolve issues\nLead or support system integration, functional testing, and validation activities\nDecompose customer requirements into system-level technical requirements\nDocument system architecture, design decisions, and success criteria with clear traceability, ensuring understanding and compliance across subsystem teams\nCoordinate activities across autonomy development, machine system development, and machine validation teams, including global team members\nCommunicate system readiness, technical risk, designs, and trade-offs between time, resources, and quality to stakeholders at multiple levels\nHelp develop and execute standard work\nServe as a subject matter expert for surface loading machine autonomous solutions\nTeam & Work Environment\nCollaborate with a local team of 3-6 engineers, with the opportunity to work alongside other US-based teams\nSplit time between an office setting and an on-site proving ground (approximately 20%)\nPersonal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided for work at the proving ground\nRequirements\nRequired Education & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited institution AND 5-7 years of professional experience \nOR Master’s degree AND full 5 years of experience\n Required Qualifications\nProven experience as a Systems Engineer supporting product development of autonomous machines, including the integration of hardware and software\nExperience collaborating with systems integration and validation teams to validate hardware and software both in the lab and on machine\nKnowledge of and experience with construction equipment such as articulated dump trucks, hydraulic excavators, and wheel loaders\nProven ability to support production products through design, implementation, customer rollout, and support\nExperience with autonomy hardware, including vision systems (camera, lidar, radar), GNSS, and IMU\nKnowledge of on-machine electrical systems and best practices, including harnessing and wiring\nExperience integrating autonomy protocols and software, including CAN, Ethernet, and ROS2\nStrong working knowledge of centralized machine command and control system architectures in mining or construction\nUses data-driven arguments, active listening, and tailored messaging to influence decisions and build consensus, while keeping leadership and external partners informed\nVery detail oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team, and stays current on advancements in the autonomy and mining industries\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster’s degree in an autonomy-related field\nExperience in the construction or mining industry\nKnowledge of C++ and software development for autonomous systems\nBenefits\n401(k)\nDental insurance\nVision Insurance\nDisability insurance\nEmployee assistance program\nHealth insurance\nHealth savings account\nLife insurance\nPaid time off\nPaid Holidays\nPlease follow the link to our website for a list of job openings in Engineering, IT, Project Management, and more!
