This position will also help with customer care, volunteer support, and membership recruitment and retention efforts of the Membership Team.\nThis position will be responsible for:\nUpdates background checks to ensure compliance with established standards. \nMaintains thorough background check records as required by established policies, procedures and standards \nHelps and supports staff concerning the background check process while following disclosure policies and procedures \nAlways ensures confidential environment in compliance with GSNorCal, state, and federal regulations \nMaintains database with records of various state, federal agencies and vendors in support of the background check process \nPerforms data entry within Salesforce \nProvides administrative support \nEnsure world-class customer service by answering questions for members via phone and email \nWork schedule and/or office expectations:\nThis is a temporary position with an expected end date of March 31, 2027\nThis is a full-time hourly position with a minimum expected workweek of 37.5 hours\nAble to work additional hours beyond standard workweek, including evenings and weekends, as needed\nHybrid, required to work in the San Jose office at least two days per week\nRequirements:\nValid California driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and proof of insurance. \nMust have access to personal transportation for business travel. Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. \nAble to pass GSNorCal’s background screening process (including criminal, education, social security and Department of Motor Vehicle verification. \nDesired Qualifications:\nOne to two years’ related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience \nKnowledge of Girl Scout mission, standards, systems, and programs \nStrong computer skills including proficiency in the most current versions of Windows and Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and ability to learn new databases and online tools quickly \nHigh attention to detail. Strong planning, organizing and review skills. \nExperience effectively managing customer service-related questions, concerns and conflicts \nAbility to work from home, as needed, to include high speed home internet access, accessibility to a non-distracting and uninterrupted space with adequate lighting and ergonomically adequate workspace \nBilingual/bicultural skills and experience, particularly Spanish language \nGirl Scouts of Northern California is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
