We think you'll find it a rewarding and nurturing place to grow your career.\nStarting Salary Range: $23.00 - $23.00The Lansing Board of Water & Light (BWL) has an openings for a Human Resource Intern, located in Lansing, MI. \nPosition Summary:\nJob Type: Full-Time Summer Internship\nDates: May 17, 2027 - August 13, 2027\nPay Rate: $23.00 per hour.\nThe Human Resources Intern will be focused on collaborating with others on projects such as:\nCompensation, Merit Increase Processes\nJob Profile Updates\nProgression Development\nJob Architecture Project\nHuman Resources Information Systems (HRIS) - Workday\nOperational Activities\nReporting and Documentation.\nThe Human Resources Intern will learn from and be supervised by a mentor from the Compensation Team and others within the Human Resources (HR) Department.\nEssential Functions:\nAbility to meet and correspond with leaders and employees throughout the organization to conduct surveys and complete data collection of current processes, utilizing MS Team's video conferencing, phone conferences, email and face to face options.\nUtilization of Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio to document and analyze data collected from various sources throughout the organization.\nObtain detailed knowledge and prepare documentation of current HR processes and workflows.\nProvide weekly reports of progress to HR Leadership.\nMake recommendations to HR Leadership on findings as applicable.\nSupport continuous improvement.\nProfessional communication.\nUtilizes standard office software (i.e., spreadsheet, word-processing, database) and SAP.\nRequired to follow BWL Safety Manual and wear personal protective equipment for all field work.\nAttends training and safety awareness and/or skills improvement as required by the BWL or government agency such as MIOSHA.\nExpected to comply with all BWL policies and work rules.\nPredictable and reliable attendance.\nOther duties as assigned by supervisor.\nJob Specifications:\nCurrently enrolled in an accredited educational institution in a Business Management program focused on Human Resources program with junior or senior status during the summer 2027.\nMust be enrolled in fall classes 2027.\nMinimum GPA of 3.0.\nInterviews will begin mid-November.\nPhysical Requirements / Working Conditions:\nThe physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
