Instructors create welcoming, high-quality experiences of participants of varied abilities while upholding the Stephens Family YMCA mission and values.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nLead Pilates Reformer classes that are safe, engaging, and aligned with YMCA standards and program goals\nProvide clear instruction, appropriate progressions/regressions, and visual and verbal cueing as appropriate\nEnsure proper equipment setup, use, and care before, and cleanup after classes\nFoster and inclusive, encouraging environment where all participants feel welcome, supported, and successful\nMonitor participant safety, provide modifications, and respond appropriately to injuries or concerns\nArrive on time, prepared, and maintain consistent class coverage\nBuild positive relationships with members and staff, supporting member retention and engagement\nAdhere to YMCA policies, procedures, and risk management standards\nParticipate in trainings, staff meetings, and professional development as required\nQUALIFICATIONS\nCurrent Pilates Reformer certification from a nationally recognized program (e.g. Balanced Body or equivalent)\nCPR/AED and First Aid certification (willingness to complete through the YMCA within the first 3 months of employment)\nStrong knowledge of anatomy, movement principles, and safe exercise practices\nAbility to work with diverse populations and varying fitness levels\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills\nPassion for community wellness and alignment with the YMCA mission\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nComprehensive Pilates certification (Mat + Apparatus)\nExperience teaching small-group or private Reformer sessions\nPrevious experience in a YMCA or community-based fitness environment\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nAbility to setup Reformers before class, and put them away after class\nAbility to demonstrate Pilates exercises and movement patterns\nAbility to lift, move, and adjust Reformer equipment\nAbility to stand, bend kneel, and move throughout the class duration\nWORK ENVIRONMENT AND SCHEDULE\nClasses will be offered early mornings, mornings, midday, evenings, and/or weekends\nYMCA COMMITMENT\nThe YMCA is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
