We think you'll find it a rewarding and nurturing place to grow your career.\nPosition Summary:\nPlanning, coordinating, and facilitating training and instruction in construction and installation\nof transmission and distribution systems for water, steam, and chilled water utilities. Training in safe operation of tools and equipment. Monitors work practices and provide coaching and direction that assures work is being done in a safe, effective manner.\nEssential Functions:\nDevelops and coordinates safe work practices in conformance with BWL and other applicable standards.\nCoordinates and tracks the investigation of incidents, hazards, and near-miss events.\nProvides recommendations for corrective actions as a result of incidents, hazards or near-miss events and tracks implementation.\nCoordinates and facilitates safety awareness programs.\nDesigns, develops, and maintains courses and programs to refresh and update employees on work related skills.\nMonitors the training processes to determine degree of trainee advancement and recommends remedial activities when appropriate.\nCoordinates with organizational safety and training committees to insure adherence to BWL safety procedures.\nDesigns, develops, and maintains program/courses to provide employees with the skills required to perform their work.\nInteracts with federal, state, and local agencies, other utilities and community organizations to exchange information and address safety concerns.\nPerforms other duties as necessitated by job responsibilities.\nAttends all training for safety awareness and/or skills improvement as required by Supervisor, BWL or governmental agency, such as MIOSHA.\nParticipation in the continuous improvement of the Asset Management System and Work Management processes.\nPredictable and reliable attendance.\nOther duties assigned by management.\nJob Specifications:\nRequired:\nMinimum 5 years of experience in any combination of the following: Water Construction, Training, Safety, Risk Management\nMDEQ S-3 license within two years of hire.\nCompletion of MIOSHA’s Level I and Level II Boot Camp within one year of hire\nExcellent communication skills.\nProficiency with PC and common business software, e.g. MS Office.\nAbility to adapt procedures, techniques, tools materials and equipment as needed.\nAbility to apply mastery of skills in the training field, through supplier or vendor training.\nValid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.\nKnowledge of training processes, documentation, and material preparation; training and utility facilities, equipment, supplies and techniques; water distribution and safety\nPhysical Requirements / Working Conditions:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
