  • Learn and follow Matrix Standards and Procedures. Mentor others in their use and participate in continuous improvement of batch automation standards, templates, and reusable deliverables.
  • Apply Matrix Project Methodology with an emphasis on software development, batch system implementation, testing, commissioning, and automation best practices.
  • Lead or support the development of project scopes of work, preliminary design concepts, cost estimates, schedules, and technical assumptions for batch automation projects.
  • Gather field data, review existing control system designs, and develop functional specifications, control narratives, batch design documents, configuration requirements, and test plans.
  • Design, configure, and support ISA-88-based batch solutions including recipes, unit procedures, operations, phases, equipment modules, procedural logic, prompts, parameters, reports, and exception handling.
  • Develop or coordinate DCS/PLC code, HMI graphics, batch interfaces, historian integration, and communications with external computing platforms as required by the project scope.
  • Lead software development and testing activities including design reviews, code reviews, software Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, commissioning, start-up, and post-start-up support.

    • Troubleshoot batch execution issues, recipe configuration problems, control logic defects, communication failures, and integration issues across PLC, DCS, SCADA, and batch management systems.

  • Develop high-quality, error-free industrial automation software and configuration in keeping with project requirements, client standards, and good engineering practices.
  • Communicate effectively with other engineering disciplines to coordinate designs, resolve interface requirements, and deliver integrated automation solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted technical resource for clients. Identify new project opportunities, support proposal efforts, and help define practical solutions that improve plant reliability, consistency, and performance.
  • Provide leadership, technical guidance, and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members.
  • Learn and follow Matrix Core Values and set the example for others
