During this hands-on internship, you won't just shadow engineers-you will directly contribute to engineering projects, design printed circuit boards (PCBs), write embedded firmware, and build custom internal software tools. Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.\nWhat You'll Do:\nDesign a custom PCB featuring an embedded microcontroller, maintain component libraries in Altium, and populate prototype PCBAs.\nDevelop firmware for custom hardware and build specialized user interface tools for internal engineering use.\nAssist engineering personnel with daily technical needs, including laser engraver job setups and prototyping support.\nApply programming skills in Python and LabVIEW to automate processes and improve departmental tools.\nPartner with senior engineers to solve complex technical challenges and contribute directly to project deliverables.\nWhat We're Looking For:\nCurrently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\nProficiency or coursework experience in Embedded Programming and Python.\nExposure to SolidWorks, LabVIEW, or Altium Designer is highly desirable.\nHigh level of overall computer literacy and mechanical/electrical aptitude.\nDriven to execute thorough technical tasks with precision and high quality.\nHighly motivated to take initiative, learn new technologies, and collaborate effectively across teams.\nEnthusiastic about finding creative solutions and continuously improving engineering workflows.\nWhat You'll Gain:\nReal-world electrical and mechanical engineering experience.\nHands-on experience working with programming and PCB's.\nMentorship from engineers and business leaders.\nPotential opportunity for full-time employment.\nWho We Are: The Dixon Group is a global, family-owned manufacturing company with a history of over 100 years of operation in the U.S.A.
