In this role, you will perform in-process and final inspections of machined metal components using precision measuring tools-such as calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators-to ensure full compliance with engineering drawings and customer specifications. Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.\nWhat You'll Do:\nPerform in-process and final inspections of machined metal components using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, and optical comparators.\nVerify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.\nMaintain and support calibration activities for inspection and testing equipment.\nInvestigate product and process quality issues and assist in determining root causes.\nParticipate in corrective and preventive action activities using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA.\nPartner with manufacturing, engineering, and procurement teams to identify and resolve quality concerns.\nMaintain accurate inspection records, nonconformance reports (NCRs), corrective action documentation, and quality metrics.\nPrepare and communicate quality reports to management and operational teams.\nPresent quality findings, nonconformance trends, and corrective action updates as needed.\nSupport Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives.\nRecommend process improvements that enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve operational efficiency.\nWork closely with production personnel, engineers, suppliers, and customer service teams to ensure quality requirements are understood and met.\nWhat We’re Looking For:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent is required; Associate degree, technical certification, or completion of a related technical training program; is preferred.\nMinimum of 3 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing, machining, or production environment.\nExperience using precision measurement and inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, and optical comparators.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis.\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.\nAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing responsibilities independently.\nExperience with magnetic particle inspection and other nondestructive testing methods.\nKnowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.\nFamiliarity with ERP systems and quality management software.\nExposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.\nHands-on approach and willingness to work on the production floor.\nStrong organizational and time-management skills.\nContinuous learning mindset and commitment to process improvement.\nSix Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus!\nWhat We Offer:\nMedical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family\nCompetitive salary\nBonus programs\n401K retirement plan\nTraining opportunities\nTuition reimbursement\nPaid vacation, PTO, and holidays\nGym reimbursements, and more!\nWho We Are: The Dixon Group is a global, family-owned manufacturing company with a history of over 100 years of operation in the U.S.A.
