Together, we’ll achieve great things.\nLet's talk about the role...\nAs a VAT Assistant Manager, you’ll be fully immersed with our experienced indirect tax department team and responsible for providing expert VAT advice to internal teams across multiple offices and our clients. Life will be fast paced, engaging, creative and rewarding.\n\nBased out of one of our offices (we’re open to location!), this advisory-focused role is perfect for a proactive and ambitious person that is looking to challenge themselves, develop and progress within a forward-thinking and fast-paced firm. With a strong background in VAT legislation and passion for delivering tailored VAT solutions, you’ll:\n\nProvide expert VAT advisory services to clients across a wide range of industries, ensuring compliance with VAT regulations and identifying opportunities for tax efficiencies. \nSupport internal teams by offering VAT advice on various matters and client-specific VAT queries. \nAdvise clients on the VAT implications of complex real estate transactions, such as options to tax, TOGCs, and the Capital Goods Scheme. \nLiaise with external authorities, including HMRC, to resolve technical VAT issues for clients.\nMonitor and interpret changes in VAT legislation, case law, and HMRC guidance, advising clients and internal stakeholders on the potential impact. \nProvide practical VAT solutions and recommendations to help clients streamline processes, improve VAT compliance, and mitigate risks. \nAssist with the delivery of VAT training to internal teams, enhancing their understanding of VAT issues and best practices. \nBuild strong, lasting relationships with key internal stakeholders and clients, becoming a trusted advisor for all VAT-related matters. \nPrepare VAT advisory reports for clients, ensuring complex issues are communicated in a clear and actionable way. \nLet's talk about you and your skills...\nHungry for a new challenge, you’ll:\n\nHave strong knowledge of VAT legislation, case law, and VAT compliance requirements. \n Be based locally out of one of our offices across the Northwest, Midlands or Yorkshire.\nHave previous experience in VAT advisory roles, ideally within an accountancy practice or consultancy setting. \nBe an excellent communicator, with the ability to convey complex VAT matters to non-tax professionals. \nHave strong analytical skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach. \nHave relevant qualifications (ATT, part-qualified CTA, or equivalent) are preferred but not essential. \nBe detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work under pressure. \nBe client-focused with the ability to build relationships and provide high-quality service. \n Be a team player with the ability to collaborate across multiple offices. \nLet's talk benefits...\nHere’s a few reasons to come and join us, but you’ll find loads more once you get your feet under the table:\n\n Competitive salary \nGenerous holiday allowance with an extra day off to celebrate your birthday\nVolunteer day\nSalary sacrifice car scheme\nFlexible hybrid working\n Tailored learning and development\nCompany pension\nHoliday purchase scheme\nHealth MOTs\n Mental health support\nA fully loaded wellbeing, social & community calendar.\nOur mission is to achieve great things for our team, clients, communities and the planet.
