In many instances we out-compete those ranges for well-qualified candidates.\nJob Summary\nThis position is available inDLB’sMission Critical Department and focuses primarily on hyperscale data centers and related mission critical facilities.\nTheSenior Lead Electrical Engineer, Datacenterwill have the opportunity to collaborate with all design staff and oversee full cycle electrical design activities for commercial building design and construction. This person will work as part of the Engineering Team and interact closely with organizational leadership to develop and edit projectspecifications and lead design development efforts.\nTheSenior Lead Electrical Engineer, Datacenterwill be self-directed onday-to-daywork and independently performs most responsibilities. Will lead project teams and projects of complex scope and broader programs. Will coordinate activities of other personnel. Assistsin the development of policies and procedures.\nTheSenior Lead Electrical Engineer, Datacenterwill communicate andoperatein line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmentalobjectives.\nEssential Functions\nLeadElectrical Engineering Design Activities (40%)\nServe as the technical authority for complex mission critical electrical infrastructure projects.\nEstablish design strategies supporting highly resilient electrical systems for hyperscale data centers and other mission critical environments.\nProvide technical oversight and quality assurance for engineering teams across multiple concurrent projects.\nIndependently perform advanced engineering work \nPerform advanced electrical design tasks including development of electrical distribution systems and topologies, infrastructure and equipment layouts and selection / sizing of equipment from conceptual design through construction documents\nProvide direction to project engineers tofacilitatedevelopment electrical construction drawings and specifications\nUtilize AutoCAD and Revit software to prepare drawings and visual aids\nReview and / or prepare book or sheet specifications for electrical systems\nDevelop and / or review sequence of operations \nDevelop proposals including project scope,scheduleand budget \nTimely and effective management of project design team including resource forecasting and coordination \nIdentifypotential project scope changes and aid in development of strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines \nPerform QAQC peer reviews for projects where he or she is not the lead design engineer\nLeadConstruction Activities (20%)\nSurvey existing building conditions and prepares technical reports of findings\nCollect data and other information for construction documents\nPrepare project design and construction documents \nLead the engineering team and interact closely with the project management team\nReview shop drawings and submittals \nReview and respond to RFIs\nReview and completepunch listsand project closeout documents\nReview and approve change order requests\nManage Stakeholder Relations (20%)\nResponsible for execution of the firm’s client value system and assuring that the project is executedin accordance withcompany policies and standards \nServe asprimaryclient contact for one or more clients. May act as a Client Program Manager with business development and marketing responsibilities.\nBuild long-term relationships with hyperscale, enterprise, and mission critical clients while serving as a trusted technical advisor.\nAssistwith research for technical papers for conferences and journals\nOrganizational Development and Continuous Improvement of Policies and Procedures (20%)\nMentor associates andassistswith training and development to create a learning and growing environment \nContribute to organizational training and standards development \nMayassistin the strategic planning for the group \nMayassistwith hiring process\nTechnology, Digital Tools & AI-Enabled Efficiency\nIdentifyopportunities and lead the strategic use of technology, digital platforms, and AI-enabled tools to enhance efficiency through workflow automation, reduced manual effort, and improved accuracy in forecasting, documentation, reporting, and quality processes.\nSupport adoption of emerging technologies - including advanced analytics, data visualization tools, and digital construction management platforms - to strengthen readiness, quality assurance, and project controls.\nCollaborate with internal teams to ensure technology solutions align with DLB standards for data security, privacy, and operational integrity.\nPromote a culture that embraces innovation, continuous improvement, and the strategic use of technology tooptimizeperformance and scalability.\nCompletion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget\nPerforms Other Related Duties as Assigned\nPosition Requirements (Advanced level for all the following)\nExpert knowledge of mission critical electrical infrastructure including utility services, medium- and low-voltage distribution, standby generation, UPS systems,parallelingswitchgear, transfer schemes, and critical power distribution.\nExpert understanding of resilient power architectures including N, N+1, 2N, distributed redundant, and concurrently maintainable system designs.\nKnowledge of codes and specifications for the design of electrical systems including National Electric Code, Life Safety and Energy Conservation Codes\nKnowledge of technical / design software including short circuit coordination and arc flash studies, equipment sizing, underground feedercalculationsand lighting calculations \nDemonstrated experience serving as Engineer of Record or technical lead for complex mission critical projects.\nSkilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management\nSkilled at producing drawings and visual aids using AutoCAD and / or Revit\nSkilled in performing code analysis including selection of equipment, wiring, etc. to meet code requirements \nSkilled in performing code analysis and advanced knowledge of electrical codes \nSkilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail\nAbility to work successfully in a remote environment thru effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace\nAbility to follow company and site safety requirements \nAbility to analyze and prepare documents,reportsand correspondence\nAbility to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information) \nAbility to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact \nAbility to work under pressure and meet close deadlines \nAbility to effectively plan and delegate the work of others\nOrganizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously\nPhysical Demands\nThe following physical demands must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
