This leader will focus on further developing a Finance organization that has a comprehensive understanding of key business drivers while delivering operational excellence.\nReports to: Head, Reporting and Compliance, NA\nJob Summary:\nThe Canada Financial Controller is responsible for managing Finance resources across Canada, including on-site, remote, and hybrid positions, while working collaboratively within the North American and global Finance organizations and coordinating with other associated companies.\nThis role provides leadership and oversight across financial reporting, accounting operations, treasury, taxation, payroll, inventory accounting and controls, audit coordination, and business unit financial analysis. The Canada Financial Controller serves as a trusted financial partner to the business, providing insight and analytical support to guide decision-making while ensuring strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and alignment with North American and DLF Group requirements.\nThe role is also responsible for continuously improving Finance processes, systems, controls, and capabilities to support the growth, effectiveness, and sustainability of the Canadian business.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nLead the Canadian Finance team and oversee accounting, financial reporting, payroll, treasury, taxation, and financial controls.\nEnsure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in alignment with company and DLF Group requirements.\nMaintain strong internal controls, accounting practices, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.\nLead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and analysis in partnership with Finance and business leaders.\nServe as a trusted financial advisor, providing insights and analysis to support business decisions, performance, and strategic objectives.\nOversee cash flow, audit coordination, inventory accounting and controls, and other key financial activities.\nPartner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Operations, Supply Chain, Technology, and other teams to support business priorities.\nIdentify and lead improvements to Finance processes, systems, reporting, and tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.\nSupport appropriate risk management, compliance, and financial governance across the Canadian organization.\nLead, coach, and develop the Canadian Finance team while promoting accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and strong business partnership.\nParticipate in strategic initiatives and special projects and provide financial leadership and support as business needs evolve.\nPerform other duties and responsibilities as required to support the needs of the business.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. \nMinimum of 5 years of progressively responsible accounting or finance experience, including experience in a Controller or similar financial leadership role. \nDemonstrated experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and audit coordination. \nStrong financial analysis, problem-solving, and business acumen. \nDemonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop employees. \nStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively partner across functions and levels of the organization. \nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. \nProficiency with financial systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nCPA designation.\nExperience within a manufacturing, agriculture, distribution, or similarly complex business environment.\nExperience working within a multi-entity or international organization.\nExperience with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and process/system improvements.\nExperience partnering with operational and commercial teams to support business decision-making.\nCompensation and Benefits:\nDLF Canada Inc. offers a competitive compensation plan with bonus available, benefits that include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a Group RRSP with company match plan, vacation and paid personal days.
