The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cloud computing, data architecture and application integration as well as designing, developing, and implementing software solutions. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing data solutions that leverage cloud technologies, ensuring our data architecture is scalable, secure, and optimized for performance. You will be required to maintain legacy applications/systems while researching how to migrate or recreate the application/systems in the cloud. The candidate will ensure all current and future applications meet the latest security standards and can handle high compute data efficiently. This role requires a blend of professionalism, technical proficiency, scientific acumen, and innovation to support and advance our research initiatives. You will help lead our client’s technical maturity by driving our applications into newly emerging technologies.\nResponsibilities\nDesign and implement cloud-based data architectures that support the needs of our applications.\nIntegrate applications with cloud data services, ensuring seamless data flow and access.\nOptimize data storage, retrieval, and processing in cloud environments.\nDevelop data models and schemas that support business requirements and ensure data integrity.\nEnsure data security and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.\nCollaborate with application developers, data engineers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide technical guidance.\nConduct performance tuning and optimization of cloud data solutions.\nIntegrate scientific equipment and other hardware into our IT infrastructure.\nLead the adoption of cloud technologies and best practices within our organization.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.\nConduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.\nDevelop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.\nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and other team members.\nStay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our applications remain cutting-edge.\nUtilize AI and machine learning techniques to enhance clinical research applications and workflows.\nWork directly with data scientists, researchers and senior management to better understand their needs and translate them into effective software solutions.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in application development, data architecture, and cloud computing; or a High School Diploma with a minimum of 8 years of experience.\nProven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.\nStrong understanding of integrating scientific equipment and handling high-compute data.\nStrong understanding of data integration, ETL processes, and data warehousing.\nExperience with data modeling, data governance, and data security.\nWorking knowledge of AI and machine learning applications in a clinical research setting.\nProficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases.\nProficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python).\nProficiency in both front-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end (PHP, MySQL) development.\nExperience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams are a must, as this position will meet regularly with senior staff scientists and researchers.\nFamiliarity with regulatory requirements and standards in clinical research is a plus.\nMust be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance \nPreferred Qualifications\nAdvanced degree in computer science or a related field\nExperience in scientific research, clinical research, or healthcare environments.\nFamiliarity with DevOps practices and tools.\nCertifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect).\nExperience with big data technologies.\nBasic Compensation: $120,000 - $125,000 yearly salary\nThe salary range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting.
