If this sparks your interest, you’re in the right place.\nDLR Group has an opening for a Regional Structural Engineering Discipline Leader. \nPosition Summary:\nAs a Regional Structural Engineering Leader, you will be responsible for leading design of structural systems for buildings across a variety of sectors including Higher Education, Cultural & Performing Arts, Healthcare, K-12, Justice/Civic, and Science & Technology. You will lead structural engineering teams to produce high-quality construction documents using Revit and manage project schedules to meet deliverable requirements. As part of the integrated design team, you will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other disciplines to develop highly integrated building designs. You will provide technical leadership, mentorship, and direction to Structural Engineers and Designers within your region, supporting their professional development and fostering a high-performing team.\nThe successful candidate will:\nManage operations, execution, and expectations for the Structural Engineering Discipline in the region. \nWorkplan structural engineering projects and manage staff to execute work to the plan to achieve profitability goals. \nAssign duties, responsibilities, and projects to personnel, properly balancing staffing, and workload (team and personal to achieve profit and revenue growth goals. \nSchedule, facilitate and document meetings with staff and clients related to overall operations. \nPartner with sector and practice leadership to perform all personnel functions such as recruitment, training, and evaluation of personnel. \nSupport business development initiatives by assisting the RFP process, participating in project interviews, and actively engaging in community and/or industry specific organization that will build the DLR Group brand. \nMaintain industry leading workplace practices to drive operating unit and culture towards a great place to work status. \nDevelop designs from concept through completion of construction, including engineering design calculations, detailed engineering reports and narratives, and coordination of structural design including the design of concrete, masonry, steel, wood materials; gravity and lateral systems. \nPerform quality control of the structural engineering plans and specifications. \nDirect or coordinate activities of personnel, vendors, and consultants. \nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering\n10+ years of building related structural engineering experience, including the design of concrete, masonry, steel and wood/timber; gravity and lateral systems.\nPrior experience leading teams of engineers on projects.\nWorking knowledge of current structural software (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc).\nExperience with BIM including Autodesk Revit workflow.\nUnderstanding of commercial building materials, systems, and assemblies.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.\nLicensed Structural Engineer (PE).\nLicensed Structural Engineer (SE).\nPrior experience interfacing directly with clients (project management / business development / etc.).\nLEED Accredited Professional with experience participating in LEED projects.\nExperience and interest in sustainable building design.\nOur comprehensive Benefits at DLR Group include medical, dental, vision, disability, wellness programs, flex spending, paid holidays, and paid time off.
