This role can be based in the following cities: \nLocation: Las Vegas, NV\nPosition Summary:\nAs a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading design of structural systems for buildings across a variety of sectors including K-12, Higher Education, Justice & Civic, Cultural and Performing Arts, and Mixed Use. You will lead a team of junior staff to produce high-quality construction documents using Revit and manage project schedules to meet deliverable requirements. As part of the integrated design team, you will collaborate closely with other disciplines to produce highly integrated building designs. This role will work directly with the regional discipline leader to assist in developing work plans, project schedules, budgets, and proposals for both internal teams and external clients.\nThe successful candidate will:\nStrive for excellence in developing structural solutions from concept through construction.\nBe a decision-maker in developing system layouts, narratives, calculations and engineering reports.\nWelcome deep collaboration with architects, other engineers, and clients as part of our integrated design process.\nLearn and adapt to variations in building codes and construction practices while working on projects around the US.\nProduce construction documents using Revit.\nAssist contractors by reviewing shop drawings, RFIs and participating in O/A/C meetings.\nPass along knowledge by mentoring entry-level staff.\nPromote workflow and technical standards best-practices for our diverse multi-office practice.\nContribute to managing the operations, execution, and expectations for the Structural Engineering Discipline in California.\nSupport business development initiatives by assisting the RFP process, participating in project interviews, and actively engaging in community and/or industry specific organization that will build the DLR Group brand.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.\n10+ years of building related structural engineering experience, including the design of concrete, masonry, steel and wood/timber; gravity and lateral systems.\nLicensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of California, Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) preferred\nPrior experience leading teams of engineers on projects.\nWorking knowledge of current structural software (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc).\nExperience with BIM including Autodesk Revit workflow.\nGoal oriented with strong skills in problem solving, creativity, and attention to detail.\nUnderstanding of commercial building materials, systems, and assemblies.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nPassion for sustainable building design and SE2050 commitment.\nExperience with directing and coordinating project activities of junior staff.\nDLR Group is an integrated design firm delivering architecture, engineering, interiors, planning, and building optimization for new builds, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects.\nWe are 100% employee-owned: every employee is literally invested in our clients’ success.
