If this sparks your interest, you’re in the right place.\nDLR Grouphas an opening for a Mechanical Engineer with a focused skill set in data center projects.\nLocation: The studios below and any other DLR Group office will be considered. \nChicago, IL\nDallas, TX\nHouston, TX\nKansas City, MO\nPhoenix, AZ\nWashington, D.C.\nPosition Summary\nThe Mechanical Engineer for Mission Critical Projects is responsible for the design, coordination, and implementation of mechanical systems for high-performance, technically complex facilities such as data centers, laboratories, clean rooms, and critical infrastructure environments. This role involves collaborating closely with multi-disciplinary teams to develop innovative, efficient, and scalable HVAC and cooling solutions that meet strict reliability and redundancy requirements.\nThe successful candidate will\nCollaborate with architects, other engineers, and clients as part of our integrated design process.\nCreate and coordinate documents using Revit.\nPerform mechanical/HVAC calculations including code research. \nPerform plumbing/fire protection calculations including code research.\nWrite and review specifications.\nReview shop drawings, RFIs and submittals.\nConduct site visits when needed.\nManage mechanical project teams and/or interdisciplinary project teams.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering. \n10+ years of experience in a MEP or integrated design firm working on commercial/public projects, including the design of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection building systems on complex projects.\n5+ years of experience of design experience related to data centers.\nProven experience as a Mechanical Engineer designing HVAC, plumbing and fire protection building systems on complex projects.\nWorking knowledge of the design and construction process and the ability to understand and communicate with professionals of other disciplines.\nExperience with BIM (e.g. Autodesk Revit MEP) work flow.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nLicensed Professional Engineer.\nLEED Accredited Professional and previous experience participating in the LEED or other green rating system process.\nExperience and interest in sustainable building design.\nOur comprehensive Benefits at DLR Group include medical, dental, vision, disability, wellness programs, flex spending, paid holidays, and paid time off.
