DMA has a dynamic, performance-driven work culture that embodies the entrepreneurial spirit, teamwork, collaboration, and an unwavering standard of ethics.\nPosition Summary\nThe Material Handler (Forklift Operator) is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility, with forklift operation serving as the primary function for the majority of the shift. This position supports warehouse and production operations by transporting raw materials, finished goods, and packaging supplies between work areas, staging zones, and storage locations.\nThe ideal candidate is experienced in operating forklifts in a high-volume warehouse environment, maintains a strong focus on safety, and can support changing operational priorities. This is an equipment-focused position that requires standing for most of the workday while operating a forklift.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nForklift Operations\nOperate a forklift throughout the shift to safely move materials and finished goods.\nTransport pallets, bins, and bulk containers to and from production lines, staging areas, and storage locations.\nLoad and unload inbound and outbound trailers in accordance with established safety and material-handling procedures.\nPerform daily forklift inspections and immediately report mechanical issues or safety concerns.\nStack, store, and organize materials according to facility layout and safety guidelines.\nInventory Handling and Support\nAssist with staging raw materials and components for production as scheduled.\nTransport finished products to designated warehouse and shipping locations.\nParticipate in cycle counts and inventory audits as needed.\nMaintain inventory accuracy through barcode scanning and other inventory control procedures.\nWarehouse and Production Support\nEmpty and replace dunnage bins, scrap containers, and packaging waste as needed.\nSupport sorter teams and production personnel by maintaining a consistent flow of materials.\nWork with leads and supervisors to prioritize and respond to changing production needs.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.\nAdditional Responsibilities\nAssist with general warehouse duties, including labeling, wrapping pallets, and consolidating freight.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nRequirements\nQualifications and Requirements\nPrevious forklift operating experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.\nForklift certification or the ability to obtain certification as required.\nStrong commitment to workplace safety and proper equipment operation.\nAbility to follow instructions and established warehouse procedures.\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to stand for the majority of the workday while operating a forklift.\nAbility to safely enter and exit warehouse equipment throughout the shift.\nAbility to perform general warehouse tasks as needed, including handling materials and packaging supplies.\nAbility to work in a warehouse environment with regular movement of materials and equipment.\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy in material handling\nAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting\nBasic math and measurement skills\nComfortable using barcode scanners, tablets, basic warehouse software, and other technology\nCommunication: Able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to follow written instructions, safety rules, and standard operating procedures.\nProfessionalism: Demonstrates a positive attitude, dependability, and willingness to adapt to shifting business needs.\nAvailability: Must be able to work assigned shifts, including overtime, weekends, or holidays, as required by production schedules. Flexibility is essential due to fluctuating operational demands.\nLanguage Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to follow instructions, report issues, and interact with team members.\nDrug Test Requirement: This position is subject to pre-employment drug screening.
