In this role, you'll combine traditional concept art skills with cutting-edge AI tools to rapidly prototype, iterate, and visualize environments, characters, props, and moods for films, games, or transmedia IPs. You will work closely with creative directors, writers, and production teams to bring imaginative worlds to life at unprecedented speed and fidelity.\nResponsibilities\nGenerate high-quality concept art using a mix of traditional tools (Photoshop, Procreate, 3D tools) and AI-powered software (e.g., Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, DALL·E, Runway, Krea, Luma, Veo 3, ChatGPT etc).\n\nInterpret story briefs, scripts, and creative direction into visual storytelling concepts.\n\nRapidly ideate and iterate visual styles, compositions, lighting, and design variations.\n\nCurate and refine AI-generated imagery into coherent, production-ready assets.\n\nCollaborate with art, concept, VFX, 3D, and animation teams to ensure stylistic consistency and visual alignment.\n\nStay up-to-date on emerging AI tools and best practices; propose innovative ways to improve workflow and quality.\n\nMaintain visual coherence with the project’s creative vision and IP style guides.\n\nParticipate in worldbuilding, lore development, and pitch visualizations when needed.\n\nRequirements\n3+ years experience as a concept artist, illustrator, or visual designer in the entertainment industry.\n\nStrong portfolio showcasing expertise in concept design (environments, characters, props) and a keen eye for mood, lighting, and storytelling.\n\nProficiency with AI art generation tools and workflows (e.g., prompt engineering, inpainting, editing and upscaling).\n\nSolid understanding of design fundamentals: anatomy, perspective, color theory, and composition.\n\nStrong creative thinking, rapid ideation, and visual storytelling abilities.\n\nFamiliarity with industry-standard tools like Photoshop, Procreate, Blender, Unreal Engine, etc.\n\nAbility to work collaboratively in fast-paced, iterative creative environments.\n\nPassion for AI, emerging tech, and experimental workflows.\n\nBonus Skills\nExperience with animation, motion graphics, or real-time engines (Unreal, Unity).\n\nKnowledge of narrative design or worldbuilding.\n\nTechnical understanding of AI model training, dataset curation, or prompt fine-tuning.\n\n About Us\nWe are DNEG, one of the world’s leading visual effects and animation companies for the creation of award-winning feature film,\ntelevision, and multiplatform content.
