We are looking for a Facilities Manager to join our Vancouver team and keep our site safe, efficient and ready for the creative and technical work that happens here.\nWorking closely with local senior management and our global sites, you will keep the facility running day to day while staying aligned with DNEG's global approach.\n\nWhat you'll do\nHealth, safety & compliance\nLead all aspects of Health & Safety and Fire Safety, including risk assessments, emergency procedures and the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee.\nManage fire wardens and first aiders (including their training), and document all results.\nEnsure statutory inspections meet City of Vancouver building codes and BC legislation, and obtain the permits and permissions needed for building work.\nWork with HR to lead WorkSafeBC and first aid incident reporting.\nBuilding, suppliers & contracts\nManage service and supply contracts: cleaning, waste and recycling, security, and building maintenance (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, CCTV and access control), including providing information for audits.\nBe the primary point of contact for facilities issues and failures, and work with landlords, building owners and third parties to secure the best service levels and value.\nManage courier and mail processes, tracking deliveries in and out of the building and to staff.\nSpace & workplace\nWork with Technology to allocate space, run space audits and optimise the use of the office as business needs change.\nCoordinate fit-outs of new spaces and office moves, with design input where needed, and document change and move processes.\nEquip new starters with desks, chairs, phones and other essentials, coordinating hardware with Technology, including deliveries for remote workers.\nManage facilities requests through Jira, ensuring swift responses.\nOrganise office events and act as the main point of contact, in line with Company policies.\nKeep the facilities pages on the intranet up to date, and work with senior management and HR to define, update, create, and communicate office and facilities policies.\nTeam, front desk & travel\nLine manages the team of Runners, and liaises with production on runner training and progression.\nOversee the front desk and visitor experience: welcoming guests, managing visitor access, handling calls and deliveries, and providing cover when needed.\nCoordinate business travel (flights, accommodation, ground transport) for staff and visiting colleagues, in line with Company policy.\nBudget & culture\nWork with senior management to produce the annual department budget.\nChampion DNEG's culture and bring ideas that improve how the studio works.\nWhat you bring\nMust haves\nPrevious office or facilities management experience, including building services.\nStrong team management skills, with experience delegating and coordinating work in a fast-changing environment.\nHealth & Safety strategy and implementation experience.\nProven track record of negotiating prices and contracts, and managing supplier and third-party relationships.\nProven track record of budgeting and forecasting.\nExperience of service charge management (meter reading, lighting, maintenance contracts, common-area cleaning).\nGood knowledge of local building codes and BC legislation.\nAbility to read and understand schematic drawings and floorplans\nExperience of space planning and fit-outs; some design experience is a plus.\nUnderstanding of low voltage electrical and mechanical systems.\nNice to have\nOffice relocation experience.\nBusiness continuity planning experience.\nFamiliarity with OfficeSpace or similar space-management tools.\nAutoCAD experience (2D and drafting)\nLevel 1 OFA or above\nExperience with A/V or Home Theatre setup\nAbout you\nFriendly, enthusiastic and a natural motivator of others.\nOrganised and hard-working, thriving on responsibility and taking the initiative.\nPersistent, with a willingness to find alternative solutions.\nA feel for process and for working with others to improve it.\nAn excellent communicator and team player.\nSomeone who understands that our technical teams are at the core of our business, not a traditional IT department.\nThe base salary range for this full-time position is $75,000 to $80,000 CAD. DNEG salary ranges are determined by function, department, level, and location. An individual's pay within a given range is determined by their transferrable or job-related skills and work experience.
