The role\ncombines practical security architecture reviews with hands-on evaluation of security\nsolutions. The successful candidate will document risks, recommend workable controls,\nand support informed approval decisions.\nMandatory Requirements and Expectations\n Own defined security reviews independently and escalate material risks or\ncomplex decisions to senior security stakeholders.\n Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations that account for security risk,\nbusiness use, and implementation effort.\n Work closely with engineering, cloud, product, and other internal teams to\nunderstand designs and agree on practical actions.\n Maintain accurate review records, decisions, conditions, and follow-up actions for\nthe security approval process.\n Communicate findings constructively to both technical and non-technical\nstakeholders.\nDuties and Operational Responsibilities\n Review application and API designs for authentication, authorization, data\nprotection, secure integration, and common attack paths.\n Perform threat modelling for new systems and significant changes, and\nrecommend controls that can be implemented and verified.\n Assess cloud architectures and configurations, including identity, network\nexposure, secrets, encryption, logging, and workload security.\n Review proposed AI applications and services for data exposure, access control,\nunsafe outputs, prompt injection, and third-party dependencies.\n Evaluate third-party tools before company use by reviewing their security\nposture, data flows, permissions, integrations, and relevant assurance evidence.\n Plan and run proof of concepts for application, cloud, and AI security tools using\nagreed evaluation criteria; document effectiveness, integration needs, and\nlimitations.\n Prepare concise risk assessments and recommendations, including proposed\nconditions or remediation needed before approval.\n Track findings with system and service owners, validate remediation evidence,\nand identify unresolved risks for escalation.\n Contribute to security standards, review checklists, and reusable design\nguidance to improve consistency across assessments.\nMandatory Job Requirements\nA successful candidate should demonstrate the following experience and capabilities:\n Approximately five years of relevant experience in application security, cloud\nsecurity, security engineering, or security architecture.\n Experience reviewing application designs and applying secure development\npractices, threat modelling, and risk-based remediation.\n Working knowledge of application and API security testing, including code,\ndependency, and dynamic testing approaches.\n Hands-on understanding of security controls in at least one major cloud platform,\nparticularly identity, networking, data protection, and monitoring.\n Ability to evaluate unfamiliar technologies through proof of concepts, define\nsuccess criteria, and present a balanced recommendation.\n Experience assessing third-party products or services, including how they\naccess, process, store, and share company or client data.\n Working knowledge of security risks in AI-enabled applications and the controls\nused to address them.\n Strong written communication and the ability to work with engineers and\nstakeholders to resolve identified risks.\nDesirable Experience\n Direct experience assessing generative AI applications, including retrieval-based\nsystems or applications that use external tools.\n Experience with security assurance reports, vendor questionnaires, and\nrecognized security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, or OWASP\nguidance.\n Experience evaluating or operating application security, cloud security, or AI\nsecurity tooling.\nEducation\n A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity,\nor equivalent practical experience is desirable.\n Relevant security or cloud certifications are desirable but are not a substitute for\ndemonstrated practical experience.\n About Us\nWe are DNEG, one of the world’s leading visual effects and animation companies for the creation of award-winning feature film,\ntelevision, and multiplatform content.
