Under the direction of the electrical engineer, the engineering technician will work with operations managers, machine operators, and supporting technicians to ensure machinery is operating at full capacity. The engineering technician will execute and lead advanced troubleshooting, replace, and direct the replacement of intricate components, both electrical and mechanical, and maintain equipment to like new condition\nDuties and responsibilities\nMaintain automatic machines with PLC’s, robotics, hydraulics, and pneumatic controls.\nAble to utilize software to troubleshoot PLC’s HMI’s, robotics, and AC Drives.\nDiagnose and remedy any electrical and mechanical trouble quickly to avoid shutdowns.\nDetermine necessary repairs, tear down and reassemble machines.\nMaintain equipment drawings and documentation to reference for timely repairs.\nIdentify potential problems before machinery incur additional expense or production downtime.\nDocument trouble shooting guides.\nPerform ongoing training of Maintenance team on troubleshooting and support of equipment. \nAssist in installation and qualification of new equipment as necessary.\nInterface between Process/Plant Engineering and Maintenance team on equipment issues.\nDemonstrate flexibility by being on-call as needed to maintain production schedules and remaining on the shift when needed to manage shifting priorities and demands.\nPerform preventative maintenance, 5S, improvement and special projects, as well as perform other assigned tasks as directed by engineering management.\nQualifications\nPreferred: Minimum AAS of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology.\nAt least 3 years’ experience performing maintenance and repair of machinery, support equipment, and facility with focus on electrical equipment. Troubleshoot and repair existing or potential electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical problems.\nMust be able to work from blueprints, manufacturer specifications, and wiring diagrams.\nAbility to use common precision measurement gages and equipment.\nTechnical knowledge of automated production machine equipment and maintenance required.\nExperience with sequence driven equipment and processes preferred. \nExperience with Omron, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, and Yaskawa PLCs preferred\nPhysically able to pass spirometry exam for test fitting of respiratory equipment\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.\nPhysical Demands\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, walk, and stand. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
