The role ensures that artificial intelligence systems, including generative AI, AI assistants, agentic AI solutions, local LLMs, and machine learning platforms, are secure, resilient, compliant, and aligned with organisational risk management and governance requirements. The architect acts as a bridge between cybersecurity, AI engineering, data, risk, and business stakeholders.\nResponsibilities\nConsult Customers in their journeys of building secure AI architectures, platforms and solutions \nDefine and maintain secure AI architecture principles, patterns, and reference architectures. \nConduct architecture reviews and provide security guidance for AI initiatives and AI-enabled products. \nConsult in AI threat modeling and risk assessments. \nDefine security requirements for AI systems, agents, models, data pipelines, and integrations. \nCollaborate with engineering, data, cloud, and security teams to implement appropriate safeguards. \nSupport AI governance initiatives and ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements. \nEvaluate emerging AI technologies and assess associated cyber risks. \nGuide AI security testing, red teaming, and validation activities. \nContribute to incident response preparedness and resilience planning for AI-enabled environments. \nProvide technical leadership and subject matter expertise on AI security to project teams and senior stakeholders. \nAt DNV Cyber, we are passionate about cybersecurity and take pride in the way we are impacting the society we live in. Diversity is fundamental to our culture and we invite you to be part of this diversity.\n Cybersecurity Competencies\nStrong understanding of security architecture principles and secure-by-design methodologies. \nExperience performing threat modelling, security architecture reviews, and security risk assessments. \nKnowledge of identity and access management (IAM), privileged access management, and zero-trust architectures. \nExperience with cloud security architectures (Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud). \nUnderstanding of application security, secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC), DevSecOps, and security testing practices. \nKnowledge of network security, segmentation, monitoring, logging, and incident response capabilities. \nFamiliarity with security frameworks and standards such as: ISO/IEC 27001\nNIST Cybersecurity Framework\nNIST AI Risk Management Framework\nCIS Controls\nOWASP Top 10\nOWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications\n\nExperience defining and implementing cybersecurity controls in complex enterprise environments. \nAI and AI Security Competencies\nStrong understanding of AI, machine learning, generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and agentic AI architectures, especially local LLM architectures. \nExperience developing AI implementations and systems with local LLM architectures\nExperience assessing security risks associated with AI systems throughout their lifecycle\nUnderstanding of AI-specific threats and attack techniques \nKnowledge of AI red teaming, adversarial testing, and AI security validation methodologies. \nAbility to define security controls for AI assistants, copilots, chatbots, and AI agents. \nUnderstanding of human-in-the-loop controls, oversight mechanisms, and delegated authorisation models for AI-enabled workflows. \nKnowledge of secure AI deployment patterns, model governance, and AI operational monitoring\nExperience with AI security and governance frameworks, including: ISO/IEC 42001\nEU AI Act\nNIST AI Risk Management Framework\nAI assurance and trustworthy AI practices \n\nUnderstanding of AI-related regulatory, ethical, and governance requirements. \nExperience and Qualifications\nConsultant-minded person - ability to communicate technical concepts to executive and non-technical audiences. \nDemonstrated experience with AI architecture design, local LLM orchestration and use, generative AI, or data-driven platforms. \nMinimum 5-10 years of experience in cybersecurity architecture, security engineering, or cyber risk management. \nExperience working in regulated or security-critical environments is considered an advantage. \nBachelor's or Master's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field is beneficial. \nRelevant certifications are beneficial (not mandatory), for example: CISSP\nSABSA\nCCSP\nMicrosoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert\nISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor \nAI governance, risk, or security-related certifications\n\nFinish language is mandatory\nSecurity and compliance with statutory requirements in the countries in which we operate is essential for DNV.
