(Van Nuys, CA) Onsite Monday - Friday\nGlobal Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management\nOwn and maintain DÔEN’s global product compliance framework across apparel, footwear, handbags, jewelry, accessories, and other applicable product categories.\nMonitor evolving regulatory requirements across the United States, EU/UK, Greater China, and key Asia-Pacific markets.\nTranslate regulatory requirements into clear product standards, testing protocols, supplier requirements, and operating procedures.\nMaintain a global regulatory matrix by product/category, country of origin, and destination market to identify requirements early in development.\nAssess regulatory changes and new market requirements, communicate business impact, and develop implementation plans.\nIdentify compliance risks across the product portfolio and establish appropriate escalation and mitigation strategies.\nProduct Safety, Testing & Chemical Compliance\nDevelop and oversee risk-based product testing protocols based on product category, material, intended use, country of manufacture, and destination market.\nManage third-party testing laboratories and review testing for applicable chemical, physical, mechanical, flammability, performance, and product safety requirements.\nOwn DÔEN’s Restricted Substances List (RSL) and applicable chemical compliance requirements.\nPartner with suppliers to ensure fabrics, dyes, prints, washes, trims, hardware, coatings, packaging, and other components meet applicable requirements.\nReview testing failures and compliance exceptions and lead corrective action plans with Product Development, Production, Quality, and suppliers.\nLabeling, Documentation & Traceability\nOversee regulatory requirements for fiber/content labeling, country-of-origin marking, care labeling, product identification, warnings, language requirements, and required consumer information.\nReview and approve regulatory components of labels, packaging, hangtags, and product markings by destination market.\nOversee required product certifications and compliance documentation, including applicable U.S. CPSC documentation and General Certificates of Conformity.\nMaintain centralized test reports, certificates, declarations, supplier records, and other required regulatory documentation.\nEstablish traceability of compliance records by style/SKU, material, supplier, purchase order, country of origin, and destination market.\nPartner with internal teams to strengthen compliance data management within PLM, ERP, and other business systems.\n\nSupplier & Product Development Compliance\nEstablish product compliance requirements for factories, mills, material suppliers, trim suppliers, and other manufacturing partners.\nIncorporate compliance requirements into supplier onboarding and ongoing supplier management.\nPartner with Design, Product Development, Sourcing, Production, Technical Design, and Quality to identify compliance risks associated with new products, materials, treatments, suppliers, and countries of origin.\nEstablish compliance checkpoints within development and production calendars so requirements are addressed before bulk production and shipment, rather than as a final-stage approval.\nTrain internal teams and suppliers on DÔEN standards, testing protocols, documentation, and regulatory expectations.\nKey Regulatory Knowledge\nThe ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge of global product compliance frameworks, including:\nUnited States: CPSC/CPSIA where applicable, FTC textile and care labeling, country-of-origin requirements, California Proposition 65, and applicable federal and state product safety requirements.\nEuropean Union / United Kingdom: REACH, textile labeling, General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), product traceability, and applicable EU/UK product safety requirements.\nGreater China: Applicable GB standards, textile/apparel and accessories labeling, testing, and documentation requirements.\nAsia-Pacific: Product safety, chemical, labeling, and consumer product requirements across key markets including Japan, South Korea, and Australia.\nThe role expected to identify regulatory requirements and risk, determine when specialized external expertise is required, and translate regulatory requirements into actionable business processes.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in product compliance, regulatory affairs, quality, textile/apparel manufacturing, sourcing, or related field.\n7+ years of experience in product compliance, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, or related functions within apparel, accessories, footwear, consumer products, or retail.\nDemonstrated experience managing compliance requirements across multiple international markets.\nStrong knowledge of global apparel and accessories manufacturing, product testing, restricted substances, labeling, product safety, and regulatory documentation.\nExperience working directly with international factories, mills, suppliers, testing laboratories, and third-party compliance partners.\nAbility to interpret complex regulations and translate them into practical business and supplier requirements.\nStrong organizational, analytical, project-management, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.\nExperience establishing or scaling a global product compliance program strongly preferred.\nLeadership & Working Style\nProactive, highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced global business.
