As a key member of the Brewery Management Team, this role partners closely with brewery leadership to provide timely, comprehensive financial guidance and support operational decision-making. The Senior Brewery Controller is also responsible for leading and developing direct reports who oversee the day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and inventory control activities for brewery operations. This position works closely with Corporate Finance to ensure alignment and standardization of financial processes and reporting across all BBC-owned breweries.\nResponsibilities:\nOwn the end-to-end cost-savings project portfolio, partnering with cross-functional leaders to prioritize initiatives, identify opportunities, track performance, manage risks, and deliver annual gross and net savings objectives.\nOwn the financial performance and reporting for plant operations, ensuring accurate and timely results in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies and procedures.\nManage the monthly and quarterly financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting.\nLead the annual planning and Latest Estimate (LE) processes in partnership with Brewery Management, developing accurate forecasts and proactively identifying financial risks and opportunities.\nPartner with Brewery Management to establish annual operating standards, production yields, and other key assumptions used for financial reporting and cost analysis.\nServe as a strategic financial partner to Brewery Management, providing analysis, guidance, and recommendations to improve operational efficiency, mitigate financial risk, and support effective business decisions.\nGuide Brewery Management through the development and financial evaluation of capital expenditure requests.\nEnsure compliance with company standards and TTB reporting requirements, including requirements related to physical inventory counts and product destruction.\nSupport internal and external audits and respond to ad hoc financial reporting and analysis requests.\nDrive standardization and continuous improvement of finance processes, reporting, analysis, policies, and procedures across internal breweries in partnership with the Finance Director and brewery Controllers.\nSupport the successful deployment and adoption of Supply Chain finance processes and systems across internal breweries as part of broader Supply Chain transformation initiatives.\nCollaborate with finance peers, Controllers, and cross-functional business partners to promote transparency, consistent financial practices, and effective financial management across brewery operations.\nLead, coach, and develop direct reports through ongoing feedback, development opportunities, career growth support, and succession planning to strengthen organizational capability and leadership continuity.\nWhat Ingredients You'll Bring:\nRequired Experience and Skills:\nBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; additional leadership or supervisory training preferred.\nMinimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong emphasis on cost accounting, financial analysis, and operational finance.\nWorking knowledge of beer tax regulations, including TTB and Pennsylvania state requirements.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.\nSAP experience required.\nStrong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and project management skills.\nDemonstrated supervisory experience, including experience leading and developing finance professionals.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAdvanced degree or additional education in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.\nExperience managing and developing a team of finance professionals.\nExperience partnering with manufacturing or plant leadership to support operational and financial decision-making.\nLeadership Responsibilities:\nLead the hiring, onboarding, training, development, and retention of an engaged, high-performing team.\nEstablish clear expectations and priorities while empowering team members and holding them accountable for achieving individual and team goals.\nFoster a collaborative, results-oriented environment by addressing challenges, removing roadblocks, resolving conflicts, and driving effective change.\nProvide regular, meaningful feedback through coaching, development conversations, and comprehensive performance reviews focused on continuous learning and growth.\nSupport the professional development of direct reports by identifying opportunities to build capabilities, strengthen performance, and prepare team members for increased responsibility.\nPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions:\nAbility to periodically lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to work at a computer or tablet for extended periods.\nAbility to bend, twist, and reach as required.\nWillingness and ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).\nWork is performed in both standard office and brewery/manufacturing environments.\nAbility to work safely in a complex operational environment requiring a high level of situational awareness.\nOccasional travel may be required based on business and position needs.\nLevel: 4M\nAt the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $138,000 - $217,000. However, it’s important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location.
