This will primarily consist of:\nBlending and processing prototypes within the Boston Beer portfolio of products.\nCoordinating the shipping and receiving of samples for internal and external stakeholders\nLaboratory Upkeep and Maintenance\nInventory Auditing and Maintenance\nTechnologists are also responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and efficient laboratory environment and must understand how to safely operate all equipment within the lab spaces. This includes analytical, blending, processing and safety equipment. Technologists are expected to communicate effectively with their colleagues via e-mail, instant messaging and in-person as well as attend regularly scheduled meetings both onsite and virtually.\nWhat You'll Brew:\nUnderstands and operates all equipment utilized in the lab to create sample prototypes, including all analytical, processing, blending and safety equipment\n\nCompletes Product Development Work Requests in tandem with fellow Technicians and Technologists as directed by Site Leaders and Lab Manager\n\nCommunicates capacity availability and constraints clearly to the Site Leaders in order for assignments to be completed on time and within the requested parameters\n\nEfficiently executes all necessary administrative elements of work requests including updating analysis documents, uploading blend sheets and completing 3rd party laboratory analysis forms.\n\nSupports and completes the shipping of prototype samples for both internal and external stakeholders\n\nUnderstands and operates FedEx, UPS and other shipping portals online\n\nWorks with brewing teams to operate equipment for blending and processing of samples as needed during scale up events\n\nSecondary Responsibilities:\nHas working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint\n\nUnderstands Boston Beer’s internal formula tracking system and works with Product Design colleagues to execute blends using that system\n\nCompletes lab related projects outside of standard Work Request process as assigned by manager\n\nIngredient inventory auditing and maintenance\n\nCleaning and maintaining lab surfaces and equipment\n\nEquipment calibration and daily lab start-up and shut down functions\n\nWhat Ingredients You'll Bring:\nMinimum Qualifications:\n1-2 years life science laboratory experience (college experience acceptable)\n\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills and high attention to detail\n\nProven ability to work in a flexible and changing work environment\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience in a life sciences laboratory (professional or institution based)\n\nAssociate's Degree in a Life Science field Sciences Degree\n\nLevel: 9IC\nAt the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $41,000 and $85,000. However, it’s important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location.
