We offer competitive salary and a great benefit package in an exciting, rewarding industry.\nDohrn is seeking a Full Time Non CDL Driver at our South Bend, IN Terminal.\nPay is $23.38/Hour to start and $27.38/Hour after the first year!\nHours: Monday-Friday, Dayshift\nBenefits: Health/Vision/Dental insurance, 401k matching, life insurance, short/long term disability and more.\nQuarterly Safety Incentive bonus for all FT drivers!\n$250/quarter\nEarn up to $1,000/annually\n*Based on eligibility\nPosition Summary:\nDriving a Non CDL vehicle between customer locations to deliver and pick up freight at dock-height.\nResponsibilities\nEssential Functions:\nDrive a Non CDL vehicle safely while transporting freight between terminals\nLoad and unload vehicle, either independently or with assistance of dockworkers; Mechanic freight handling equipment may be used where available and appropriate\nPerform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of freight\nSecuring of freight may be required through strapping or other methods\nInspect the vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions as required by law and company policy\nPerform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle\nPerform other duties as needed\nQualifications\nMinimum Requirements: A minimum age of 21\nHigh school completion or equivalent\nValid Driver License & 3 years driving experience\nClass C Endorsement if in Illinois or #2 Endorsement if in Indiana.\nAll drivers are to possess only one valid driver's license issued by the resident state of the driver; Operators who have recently transferred from another state must produce a copy of the former license or provide license information for verification from that state; Drivers will need to provide information on all licenses held within the previous 36 months\nNo record of citation or conviction of any DUI / OWI or Reckless Driving within the previous 5 years\nMust have and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)\nMust pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and functional screen\nMust consent to a pre-employment drug screen; Dohrn Transfer must receive a negative result\nDohrn Transfer must receive a negative controlled substances and alcohol result from prior employer(s) for the past three-year period; No prior evidence of controlled substance use\nThere must be no instance of refusal to submit to an alcohol or controlled substance test within the past three-year period, including pre-employment testing\nMust consent to a 10-year check on work history; Gaps of 30 days or more must be listed and explained; documentation may be requested; Discrepancies may prevent applications from being processed or withdrawal of the job offer\nMust have the ability to read and write the English language and also perform simple mathematical calculations\nExcellent attendance\nWorking Conditions/Physical Requirements:\nGripping of various sizes and weights of up to 100 pounds\nLifting of up to 100 pounds from ground level to 45\"; Lifting at waist level or 36”\nFront carry up to 100 pounds for 250 feet\nPush/pull up to 60 pounds of horizontal force\nSitting up to 10 hours per day\nStanding and Walking occurs frequently\nClimbing, Squatting, Crouching, Balancing, or Kneeling occurs occasionally\nCrawling occurs rarely\nReaching occurs frequently, while shifting gears, moving freight, loading and unloading the trailers and turning the steering wheel, along with closing the rear trailer doors.\nGrasping and handling occurs frequently while loading and unloading freight, opening and closing trailer doors, turning the steering wheel along with turning the hand crank to raise and lower the front jacks on the trailer\nIt is critical to speak with coworkers and customers in order to safely and properly perform essential job functions\nVision is used constantly during their day while driving, reading maps, inspecting vehicle\nSmell is used occasionally during their day to check for leaks\nHearing is used frequently, listening for unusual sounds or warning sounds of problems with the vehicle\nMay be exposed to extreme temperatures, humidity, or wetness\nMay be exposed to dust, gas, fumes, or chemicals\nDohrn Transfer Company, LLC is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer and welcomes all qualified applicants.
