If you’re the best at what you do, come work for Doma Technology.\nAbout Us \nDoma Technology LLC offers solutions for lenders, real estate professionals, title agents, and homeowners that make closings vastly simpler and more efficient, reducing cost and increasing customer satisfaction.\nOur Values\nObsessively Entrepreneurial - We encourage calculated risk-taking, and we know that some of our best learning happens by making mistakes along the way.\nPeople First - We communicate with honesty and respect to our customers, colleagues, and partners.\nBetter Together - We believe diversity, equity and inclusion creates value through the differences in our backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.\nAct with Integrity - We hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards in all of our business practices.\nGeneral Counsel \nJob Duties: \nServe as a trusted legal partner to the business, identifying and resolving legal issues, structuring third-party relationships, and helping teams move forward with a clear understanding of risk and tradeoffs. \nResearch, interpret, and advise on state regulatory requirements affecting the title insurance and mortgage industries, developing clear, practical guidance in complex or unfamiliar areas. \nSupport corporate development, financing, and other strategic transactions as they arise \nDraft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including agreements for both the delivery and procurement of products and services. \nProvide subject matter legal expertise on individual title matters, applying legal judgment to specific facts and circumstances to assess risk and determine practical paths forward. \nPartner with Compliance leadership on matters requiring legal interpretation or judgment, including regulatory interactions and complex risk questions. \nManage the company's intellectual property portfolio \nSelect and manage outside counsel relationships across practice areas \nMentor and develop internal team members supporting contract review and other legal matters, helping build legal capability across the organization \nRequired Qualifications: \nJ.D. and active bar admission \nSubstantial experience advising businesses across commercial, regulatory, and general corporate matters, with a strong working knowledge of residential title and mortgage transactions. \nExperience operating as a broad, hands-on business lawyer in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment, with the range and judgment to work across disciplines, navigate unfamiliar questions, and advise the business beyond a narrow legal specialty. \nDemonstrated judgment in assessing risk and navigating ambiguity, with the ability to distinguish material concerns from manageable ones and recommend compliant, practical paths forward. \nPrior experience in a fast paced, high growth or entrepreneurial company \nStrong track record managing outside counsel relationships \nPreferred Qualifications: \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal topics to non legal audiences \nExperience in mentoring and developing legal talent \nExperience supporting M&A or financing transactions \nComfortable working remotely, with sufficient schedule flexibility to maintain meaningful overlap with colleagues located across the country. \n #LI-Remote\nShown below is the lowest to highest base salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay position within the base salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
