As an engineer on the Architecture team, you’ll work across the company to design, develop, and improve upon the foundations of the company’s technical strategy, to ensure that we can continue to design, develop, and operate internet-scale data systems efficiently, reliably, and securely.\nOur work touches on every aspect of the system design life-cycle at DomainTools, from early technology evaluation to system design to infrastructure management and operations.\nThis is a high-impact, high-visibility position that requires tenacity, creativity, and strong collaboration skills.\nIf you’re passionate about making the impossible possible in order to make the internet a safer place, we want to hear from you!\nJob Responsibilities\nDesign and develop a foundation for real-time internet-scale data processing and management.\nDesign and develop a platform for software and infrastructure management spanning cloud and on-prem systems.\nDevelop and maintain observability tooling including logging, metrics, and alerting spanning cloud and on-prem systems.\nDefine technical standards and best practices as a leader in the engineering organization.\nReconcile complex, conflicting distributed architecture spanning multiple companies over multiple decades.\nProvide technical leadership within DomainTools broadly.\nRequirements\nStrong organizational and interpersonal skills. Must not only to dive deep into difficult technical problems, but bring others along for the ride as well.\n7+ years experience in some combination of software/hardware/systems engineering or leadership in technical operations.\nExperience designing, building, and operating large-scale orchestration systems.\nExperience working with major internet protocols and standards (DNS, Whois, RDAP, etc.)\nExperience with and passion for working in the internet security space.\nExperience stepping across organizational boundaries to solve problems.\nStrong understanding of architectural trade-offs at different orders of magnitude of scale.\nStrong technologist, broadly conversant in modern approaches to software engineering, systems engineering, operations, and infrastructure management.\nAble to articulate and defend designs from architectural first-principals\nAble to adapt those designs to the realities of a complex business.\nStrong desire to solve seemingly insurmountable technological and organizational problems.\nCompensation: $180K - $230K base salary, plus a 15% annual bonus\nBenefits\nDomainTools is the global leader for Internet intelligence and the first place security practitioners go when they need to know.
