This internship will provide hands-on exposure to the surveying, design, construction, operation, & maintenance of the electric transmission system that powers homes, business, and communities across our service territory.\nAs an intern, you will work alongside engineers and technicians on real world projects that support the reliability of the electrical grid. The internship offers valuable technical experience, professional development, and insight into a career in the electric utility industry.\nSupport transmission engineering projects involving high-voltage (33kv - 230kV) transmission lines and associated facilities.\nBill of material development and material requisitions.\nAssist with PLS-CADD design & AutoCAD drawings.\nReview encroachment request and T&D joint use request to ensure they meet Dominion’s requirements.\nReview engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation.\nUtilize engineering software (PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, MFAD, etc.), GIS tools, and Microsoft Office applications to support project work.\nParticipate in field visits to transmission lines, substations, and construction sites to observe utility operations and engineering practices.\nCollaborate with engineers and operations teams on projects.\nLearn and apply Dominion Energy's commitment to safety, operational excellence, and environmental stewardship.\nSupport storm restoration efforts.\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience\nAutoCAD experience or prior AutoCAD coursework.\nEducation Requirements\nMust be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program that is ABET accredited majoring in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.\nMust have a GPA of 3.0 or above \nMust have a graduation date of 2028 or 2029\nTest Description\nNo Testing Required\nExport Control\nCertain positions at Dominion Energy may involve access to information and technology subject to export controls under U.S. law.
