Work closely with other software engineers and team members to understand the system end-to-end and perform system analysis. Analyze, design, configure and develop the business logic and backend systems. Complete the work needed to implement features from the product backlog. Work closely with Product/Business Owner to understand stories and requirements from both Business and Technical perspective. Size/estimate user stories/requirements. Perform unit testing and execute all testing related activities including the automation of test cases where applicable. Create necessary project and product artifacts including support documentation. Work closely with other team members to ensure features meet business needs. Work collaboratively with infrastructure, security and other partners. Collaborate with Portfolio Architects to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards. Communicate with Product/Business Owner, Engineering Lead, UI/UX Designer or Scrum Master/Project Manager to ensure stories/tasks are delivered on schedule. Perform ongoing product maintenance and resolve issues (e.g. break/fix) as support requests arise. Mentor less experienced team members.\nCandidates for this role may be located in the Richmond, VA, or Cayce, SC area.\n Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience\nThe knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:\n2-3+ years of in-depth experience in programming or systems analysis desired.\nExperience in adapting and applying rapidly changing technology to business needs.\nFamiliarity with generative AI concepts and AI-assisted development tools, with the ability to effectively and responsibly use AI to improve software engineering productivity.\nAssist or provide support for server administration - requesting and setting up servers including patching and certificate renewal.\nAbility to create Powershell scripts for task automation.\nUnderstanding of F5 / Load Balancing.\nUnderstanding of System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) for managing web farms.\nGood understanding of Windows and Web Server Administration including SSL /TLS protocols and IIS configurations.\nMust have excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong customer service mindset, and solid problem-solving skills.\nWill be required to take part in 24x7 on-call rotation and overtime is occasionally required for project demands.\n Education Requirements\nEducation Level:\nDegree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:\nBachelor\nPreferred Discipline(s): Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer Engineering\nOther disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.\nLicenses, Certifications, or Quals Description\nWorking Conditions\nOffice Work Environment 76 -100%\nTravel Up to 25%\nOther Working Conditions\nTest Description\nNo Testing Required\nExport Control\nCertain positions at Dominion Energy may involve access to information and technology subject to export controls under U.S. law. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and work location.
