This internship takes place in Dixon, IL during an 10-12-week period.\nA Manufacturing Engineer Intern at Donaldson Company participates and contributes in process and product modifications, standards, and improvements through knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes, while developing acumen to increase product quality, output, and cost effectiveness. You’ll learn to utilize lean tools and thinking in improving value streams, conduct workflow analysis, and lead process improvement and change within the organization.\nRole Responsibilities:\nWork with a mentor to justify new equipment purchases and upgrades, primarily focusing on Assembly Stations, their controls, and new technologies.\nConduct time studies, routing reviews, and labor utilization in the assembly process to reduce waste and touch points.\nAssist in the design and implementation of new products and equipment to build those products using the latest technology and ensure reliability is brought into our processes.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nPursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.\nCollege coursework or prior internship experience around the lean manufacturing environment, including changing processes by using lean tools, techniques, and data.\nExperience in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).\nElectrical and mechanical hands-on experience, either from prior internships, collegiate student organizations, applied university projects or hobby.\nExperience with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nUnderstanding of Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001 and TS 16949:2002.\nWillingness to work flexible hours when needed.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nRelocation: This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.\nHourly Pay Range: $22.00 - 28.00 , depending on projected undergraduate graduation date, educational degree in progress and major of study upon time of hire.\nThis position is overtime eligible as per state and federal regulations.\nEmployee benefits are part of the total rewards package that Donaldson Company, Inc. provides to you.
