The Assistant General Manager will also assume overall operational leadership in the General Manager’s absence.\nWhat You'll Do\nPartner with the General Manager to oversee daily hotel operations and ensure effective coordination across all departments.\nProvide leadership and direction to department heads and associates while promoting a culture of accountability, teamwork, and service excellence.\nMaintain a visible presence throughout the hotel and actively engage with guests and associates.\nMonitor guest satisfaction, reviews, and feedback and work with department leaders to resolve concerns and improve the overall guest experience.\nSupport the General Manager in achieving hotel revenue, profitability, payroll, and expense objectives.\nReview operational and financial reports and identify opportunities to improve performance and efficiency.\nAssist with labor management, scheduling, productivity, and payroll controls.\nPartner with the Sales and Marketing teams to support revenue growth, guest retention, and market share objectives.\nSupport revenue optimization and operational strategies designed to maximize occupancy and overall hotel performance.\nRecruit, coach, develop, and retain talented associates and future leaders.\nConduct regular leadership follow-up and ensure department leaders are effectively managing associate performance and development.\nFoster an environment of inclusion, engagement, recognition, and professional growth.\nEnsure compliance with company policies, hotel standards, safety procedures, and applicable regulations.\nOversee and follow up on hotel cleanliness, maintenance, and overall physical condition in partnership with the appropriate department leaders.\nSupport Food & Beverage operations and ensure consistent standards for quality, service, cleanliness, and financial performance.\nAssist in managing hotel operations during periods of elevated business activity, staffing challenges, renovations, or other operational changes.\nBuild and maintain positive relationships with guests, associates, vendors, community partners, and other key stakeholders.\nServe as a leader and resource for associates, addressing operational challenges with confidence, professionalism, and a solutions-oriented mindset.\nAssume responsibility for the overall operation of the hotel in the General Manager’s absence.\nPerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager.\nWhat We're Looking For\nRequired Qualifications\nMinimum of three to five years of progressive hotel operations experience, with increasing levels of responsibility.\nPrevious experience as an Assistant General Manager, Hotel Manager, Director of Operations, Department Head, or comparable hotel leadership role preferred.\nExperience overseeing multiple hotel departments and supporting cross-functional operations.\nDemonstrated success in guest service, associate engagement, and operational performance.\nStrong understanding of hotel financials, including revenue, expenses, payroll, and profitability.\nExperience leading, coaching, and developing diverse teams.\nStrong business acumen and operational decision-making skills.\nExcellent communication, interpersonal, relationship-building, and problem-solving abilities.\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business needs.\nDemonstrated ability to lead by example and hold oneself and others accountable.\nPreferred Qualifications\nFull-service hotel leadership experience.\nFood & Beverage leadership experience.\nExperience with revenue management and hotel financial performance.\nExperience supporting hotels through periods of significant change, renovations, brand transitions, or ownership changes.\nBachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.\nWhy Join Donohoe Hospitality?\nAt Donohoe Hospitality, we invest in our people because we know they are the heart of our success.
