The work here doesn't sit in a slide deck -\nit ends up in the field, in the hands of people for whom failure isn't an\noption.\nAbout the Job\nThe MQE Product Engineer is the product quality specialist\nwithin the MQE team. Reporting to the MQE Manager, you will work alongside the\nProcess Engineer and Test Engineer to support the Contract Manufacturing (CM)\nManager in improving the manufacturing quality of our products.\nWhile the Process Engineer improves how products are built\nand the Test Engineer maintains the test systems, the Product Engineer\nsafeguards the product itself - its quality acceptance, defect disposition\nthrough the Material Review Board (MRB), production automation, cost of\nquality, and full traceability from incoming material to finished goods.\nIn close support of the CM Manager at our contract\nmanufacturer in Batam, Indonesia, this role turns quality data into action:\ndispositioning non-conforming product, driving defect reduction with the\nProcess and Test Engineers, and building the automation and tracking systems\nthat make product quality visible and controllable.\nWhat You'll Do\n1. Support the CM Manager on\nProduct Manufacturing Quality Engineering\nCoordinatewith the CM Manager, providing supporting Production Engineering related\ntask.\n\nDefineproduct acceptance criteria, Production quality specifications for each\nradio model.\n\nMonitorproduct-level quality metrics - SMT defect rate (PPM), MI/functional pass\nyield, and outgoing quality (OQC/ORT) - and escalate risks to the MQE\nManager and CM Manager.\n\nSupportingand reviewing Product transferring from design completion to Operation,\nengineering changes (ECN/ECO), and alternate parts.\n\n2. Support the Material Review\nBoard (MRB) Process\nServeas the Doodle Labs technical representative on the MRB at the contract\nmanufacturer.\n\nDispositionnon-conforming material and products - use-as-is, rework, repair, scrap,\nor return-to-vendor (RTV) - with documented engineering justification.\n\nLeadcontainment and purge actions for suspect lots and verify rework\neffectiveness before release.\n\nMaintainMRB records and disposition turnaround time (TAT) metrics, and drive\nsupplier corrective actions (SCAR) for material-related defects.\n\n3. Reduce Production Defects\nwith the MQE Team\nLeadproduct-level root-cause analysis for production defects and customer\nreturns using 8D, 5-Why, and fishbone methodologies.\n\nPartnerwith the Process Engineer on process-related corrective actions and with\nthe Test Engineer on test escape and test coverage gaps.\n\nDrivecorrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to closure with verified\neffectiveness, and feed lessons learned into design-for-manufacturing\n(DFM) and design-for-test (DFT) reviews.\n\nAnalyzetest yield data with the Test Engineer to identify top failure modes and\nprioritize defect reduction projects.\n\n4. Manage Cost of Quality\n(CoQ)\nEstablishand track Cost of Quality: scrap, rework, retest, MRB holding, warranty\nreturns, and inspection costs.\n\nPrioritizeimprovement projects by CoQ impact and report monthly savings to the MQE\nManager and CM Manager.\n\nReducerework loops and material waste through poka-yoke and upstream defect\nprevention with the Process Engineer.\n\n5. Establish Production\nTracking from Material to Finished Goods\nImplementend-to-end traceability: incoming material lots → PCBA serial numbers →\nsub-assembly → finished goods → shipment.\n\nDefineserialisation, labelling, and barcode/QR scanning requirements at each\nproduction stage with the contract manufacturer.\n\nBuildWIP tracking visibility so any unit can be located and its build history,\ntest results, and material lots retrieved on demand.\n\nEnablerapid lot isolation for quality alerts, recalls, and engineering change\ncut-in tracking.\n\n6.
