We sit at the intersection of defense, robotics, and next-generation autonomy, powering the machines that are changing how militaries, first responders, and industries operate in the field. Our core purpose is simple: connect anyone and anything, at any time, in any place.\nFor over 25 years, our team has been at the forefront of mesh networking, partnering with leading defense programs, robotics manufacturers, and system integrators worldwide. The work here doesn't sit in a slide deck - it ends up in the field, in the hands of people for whom failure isn't an option.\nWhat You’ll Do (Performance Objectives)\n1. Deliver Production-Ready RF Modules (Primary Objective)\nWithin the first 4-6 months, study, understand, prepare and test newly developed products like Radios and Bidirectional Amplifier modules. \nOwn end-to-end RF hardware validation including integrating SW and Mechanical. Prepare SOPs, Conduct environmental tests, planning control or prototype run, collaborate with CAD and mechanical engineers and handover the design and documents to product engineering team (approximately 80% RF / 20% analog), including power supplies, MCU interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C), Ethernet circuitry, and system-level integration. \nValidate and own working prototypes that meet performance specifications and are ready for manufacturing handoff. \n2. Characterize High-Performance, Flexible, and Compact Radio Modules\nPrepare Test plan based on the specifications, work with CAD engineers to design test jigs, Evaluate EVKs, perform design margin tests, Conduct OTA testing, bench level testing and Environmental testing and qualify the product. \n3. Lead Validation, Documentation, and Design Transfer\nPlan and execute RF and system-level testing, verifying performance against specifications and documenting results clearly. \nPrepare basic but complete design documentation (schematics, test results, design rationale) suitable for long-term product support. \nSuccessfully transfer designs to Product Engineering, ensuring smooth ramp into manufacturing without requiring major redesigns. \n4. Drive Technical Rigor and Cross-Functional Execution\nOrganize and lead cross functional meetings to align and speed up the development process throughout the project lifecycle, incorporating feedback from RF, PCB, mechanical, and product stakeholders. \nDevelop and track project plans and milestones, coordinating closely with cross-functional partners to meet aggressive timelines. \nProactively identify technical risks and tradeoffs, recommending solutions that balance performance, cost, schedule, and manufacturability. \nWhat Success Looks Like\nYou deliver a validated RF radio module that meets specifications and can be manufactured without major redesign. \nCross-functional teams trust your technical judgment and rely on you to move designs forward efficiently. \nProduct Engineering can take your designs into production with confidence. \nHow You’ll Ramp\nFirst 30 days: Learn existing design approaches, tools, and product architecture; evaluate new product requirements and constraints. \nBy 60 days: Finalize Test jig PCB designs, support prototype builds, and prepare documentation for testing and validation. \nBy 90 days: Derive a structured testing and validation plan, prepare a proper test setup, test and validate the module and verify against the specification, document and transfer to PE team/ production Team. \nWho You’ll Work With\nPCB design engineers and CAD engineers on test jig designs, Redesign of existing modules etc. \nMechanical engineers on enclosure, thermal, and integration constraints. \nProduct and Product Engineering teams during validation and manufacturing transfer. \nBoth junior and senior engineers across the design organization. \nWhy This Role Is Compelling\nDirect ownership of critical RF products that define product performance \nOpportunity to solve complex RF challenges under real-world constraints. \nHigh autonomy and technical influence in a fast-growing robotics and defense technology company \nExposure to advanced wireless technologies and real production hardware-not just prototypes","description_format":"text","description_chars":4367,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["RF & Wireless Hardware","Network Equipment"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-11T19:11:38Z"}],"liveness":{"score":29,"band":"fade","label":"Fading","p_open":1,"p_active":0.536,"p_room":0.55,"age_days":43,"expected_fill_days":36,"reasons":["conf:12","velocity","win:tail"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/doodlelabs-rf-characterization-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/doodlelabs-rf-characterization-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-02T01:15:21Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":1465,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":3535,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-03T00:00:00Z"}}}
