Manager, Marketplace - Restaurant Growth Strategy & Operations

About the Team

Our Marketplace Strategy & Operations team is responsible for building, scaling and improving the way in which we provide Restaurant delivery. We build our restaurant selection, test 0 → 1 products to give merchants more opportunity to delight their consumers, and optimize ways to improve our marketplace to increase the return on investment our partners gain from partnering with DoorDash. This team focuses on all things Restaurants ranging from selection, to merchandising, to consumer strategy, to leveraging our logistics network in new ways, to so much more! 

About the Role

We are hiring a Manager to join the Meal Box team within Restaurants Strategy & Operations. In this role, you’ll act as a General Manager for live markets, owning performance, execution, and iteration across merchant relationships and meal quality. You’ll problem-solve how we scale hands-on merchant management into repeatable processes, lead a team of project managers, and identify new opportunities to unlock growth and efficiency as the program expands. 

Meal Box is DoorDash’s most ambitious bet in the restaurant space-a bold new way to help customers replace cooking with craveable, high-quality meals at unbeatable value. We partner with standout restaurants in every neighborhood to co-create curated, filling meals that customers love and return to daily. With early success in multiple cities, we’re unlocking a category that has the potential to transform consumer behavior at scale. At full penetration in key markets, this is a multi-billion dollar opportunity.

We operate in a hybrid model, so we spend some time in person and some time working remotely. You'll be expected to manage a team of project managers.

We’re excited about you because…

You have 6-8+ years of experience in a problem solving role - Consulting, Tech, Banking, Food & Beverage, etc.  You have a completed BA/BS degree in a quantitative field (engineering, finance, mathematics, business, etc.)You have experience building 0→1 bets. You’re resourceful and turn ambiguous ideas into action.You have a strong history of data analysis. You have experience with pulling your own data via SQL and/or open to learningYou are a collaborator. You have experience with stakeholder management across diverse audiences, from front-line doers to senior executives. 

Compensation

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

• For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
• For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).

The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado.

$136,000—$200,000 USD
