We’re focused on how to do the next 10B even better \nAbout the Role\nAs a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work on all aspects of the mechanical design process, including design, analysis, prototyping, and validation of components and systems for DoorDash's next-generation autonomous delivery vehicle.\nYou’re excited about this opportunity because you will…\nDesign detailed components and sub-assemblies for a high-profile delivery robot, with the support of your mentor, manager, and team members.\nBuild production-quality 3D CAD models and drawings, and present your work in cross-functional design reviews.\nCollaborate with electrical, systems, and manufacturing engineers to make sure your designs integrate cleanly and can be manufactured, assembled, and serviced at fleet scale.\nLearn how to validate designs through prototype builds, bench testing, and tolerance and structural analysis, and act on feedback\nWe’re excited about you because…\nYou are pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (such as Mechatronics, Robotics, Aerospace, or Automotive Engineering), have no more than 2 years of full-time work experience, and are available for a May or June 2027 start date (internships are only hosted during the summer).\nYou have hands-on experience with 3D CAD (such as NX, SolidWorks, or CATIA), preferably NX.\nYou have a solid grasp of engineering fundamentals and use first principles, calculations, simulation, and test data to support design decisions.\nYou have shown interest in mechanical design through coursework, team projects (such as Formula SAE or robotics clubs), or personal builds.\nYou can work independently on assigned design tasks and you want to learn how products are designed, built, and operated at scale.\nApplications for this position are accepted on an ongoing basis\nCompensation\n\nActual compensation within the pay range listed below will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.
