DoorDash is an American delivery company founded in 2013 that started with restaurant orders in suburban markets the incumbents had ignored, and now holds the largest share of United States food delivery. It has extended the same courier network into grocery, convenience, alcohol and retail delivery, sells a white-label fulfilment service to merchants who want deliveries from their own apps, and operates an advertising business selling placement to restaurants and brands. Headquartered in San Francisco and listed on Nasdaq, it acquired the European platform Deliveroo and the hospitality software firm SevenRooms in 2025.

About the Team

DoorDash's Protective Services function safeguards executives, their families, and residences through executive protection, residential security, threat management, and secure transportation across a three-brand global enterprise. The team operates 24/7 and is built on the principle that protection starts before an incident, not after. The people who do this work well combine operational discipline with personal composure, take ownership of outcomes rather than tasks, and represent the program in every interaction with the principal population.

About the Role

The Protective Services Agent provides close protection for DoorDash executives and their families across all operating environments, including corporate headquarters, domestic and international travel, company events, and residential settings. The role requires a trained executive protection professional who develops and implements security plans, conducts advances and risk assessments, coordinates with law enforcement and venue partners, and serves as the principal's primary security presence. Personnel must be capable of managing incidents and serving as first responders on scene. Operations regularly involve extended duty periods, irregular schedules, and short-notice deployments. Potential travel up to 25% of the time.

You are excited about this opportunity because you will…

Provide close protection across all principal environments.

Serve as the primary security presence for executives and their families across headquarters, travel, events, and residential operations. Maintain continuous situational awareness, assess threats in real time, and execute protective protocols effectively and unobtrusively.

Plan and execute security operations.

Develop and implement comprehensive security plans for executive movements and events, incorporating site surveys, route planning, risk assessments, staffing requirements, screening procedures, and emergency response strategies. Conduct advances for all principal movements and update plans in response to changes in schedule, environment, or threat landscape.

Manage travel security end-to-end.

Plan and execute security logistics for domestic and international executive travel, including itinerary management, secure ground transportation, hotel and venue assessments, and coordination with in-country security partners and law enforcement. Identify and communicate travel-related security concerns to program leadership before each trip.

Respond to incidents and serve as first responder.

Serve as the primary security responder for all incidents during executive operations, including security events and medical emergencies. Manage situations while maintaining overall operational continuity and ensuring program leadership maintains awareness of all significant events.

Maintain operational readiness.

Own vehicle readiness, equipment management, communications tools, and all operational documentation to the standard required for continuous protective operations. Prepare detailed after-action reports and contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of standard operating procedures.

We are excited about you because you bring…

Executive protection experience.

Three to five years in executive protection, corporate security, law enforcement, or military service with direct application to close protection operations supporting senior leaders. Proven ability to conduct advances, develop security plans, manage logistics, and provide close protection across headquarters, travel, and event environments in a corporate setting.

Security planning and risk assessment.

Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive security plans, conduct threat and risk assessments, and produce written documentation suitable for program leadership review. Experience incorporating intelligence and open-source information into operational planning and updating plans based on changes in schedule, environment, or threat landscape.

Judgment under pressure.

A track record of making sound, time-sensitive decisions in dynamic environments. The ability to manage incidents, prioritize competing demands, and maintain operational continuity without requiring direction on the basics.

Corporate professionalism and discretion.

Experience operating in a corporate environment with a clear understanding of business etiquette, executive-level interaction, and confidentiality. Trusted to manage sensitive information about principals, their families, and their schedules across all operating environments.

Communications and documentation.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal leadership, executive assistants, law enforcement, and external partners. Able to produce clear professional reports, security plans, and after-action documentation that meet the standard of a program that briefs senior leadership.

Physical readiness for the work.

The ability to stay on your feet and moving for long stretches across offices, residences, venues, and transit; to lift and carry equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs regularly and to assist or move a person to safety when required; to operate effectively in vehicles for extended periods; to see and assess people, vehicles, and conditions at distance and in variable light; to communicate clearly in loud and crowded environments; and to drive safely in heavy traffic and adverse conditions.

Endurance for the conditions.

The ability to work outdoors and in transit across variable conditions including heat, cold, inclement weather, and crowds for as long as the work requires; to sustain performance during irregular schedules, extended duty periods, and on-call availability outside scheduled hours; and to keep making sound decisions while doing it.

Credentials.

Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record required. Advanced first aid and CPR certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Must hold or be able to obtain a valid US passport and maintain unrestricted travel documentation for all regions supported by the program.
