Applicants must demonstrate technical mastery, architectural skills, mentoring abilities, and independence.\nYou’ll be tackling opportunities and projects core to the Doowii interface and backend:\ndefine architecture\nlead development projects and make critical technical decisions\nensure the system scales across customers, data, and use cases\nidentify opportunities to elevate user experience\nWhat You’ll Work On\nDoowii engineering is critical in the end-to-end development of the Doowii platform, applications, and systems, from designing the user interface to managing our systems and infrastructure.\nFrontend & UX\nLead development of high-impact, cross-cutting features\nResolve ambiguous problems with incomplete information\nPartner with ML, product, and frontend engineers to ship AI-driven features (LLM text-to-SQL, embeddings, feature stores, LLM-driven data modeling)\nBackend Systems\nDesign scalable systems across application, data, and infrastructure layers\nDefine patterns for integrations, data modeling, and performance\nOwn system performance, observability, and reliability\nImprove deployment and operational workflows\nData Interaction Layer\nGuide how we structure, access, and optimize data\nInfluence decisions around analytics infrastructure and AI integration\nDesign and maintain data models (star, wide-table, or Iceberg-native) to support real-time and batch analytics\nOptimize storage + query performance\nDevelop and maintain ingestion pipelines (NiFi 2.0 → Kafka → Iceberg → BigQuery) end-to-end\nTeam Impact\nMentor engineers and raise engineering standards\nAct as a technical partner to Doowii’s product and leadership teams\nRequirements\nBS in computer engineering (or similar field with 10+ years of experience)\n5+ years of full-stack experience\nStrong full-stack expertise, covering frontend (JavaScript/TypeScript, modern frameworks) and backend skills (Python preferred)\nDeep experience with cloud infrastructure\nExperience with APIs and SQL\nExperience with schema evolution, CDC, and high-throughput streaming\nBias for automation, clear documentation, and fast iteration in a startup environment\nExperience with AI model/agent development and LLM evaluation\nBonus points if you have:\nMasters in computer engineering\nExperience building data-heavy platforms or analytics products\nStrong product intuition and UX thinking\nExperience with performance optimization\nHands-on with at least two of: Kafka or Pub/Sub, Apache NiFi, Airflow, Mage.AI, Beam, Spark, Flink, dbt, Iceberg/ClickHouse\nCompensation\nThe base pay range for this role is $150,000 - $190,000 per year.\nWe’re open to adjusting the role level based on your experience and expertise.
