OPW is part of the Clean Energy & Fueling segment of Dover (NYSE: DOV).\nThis role is based in our Whitsett manufacturing facility, and the base schedule is first shift.\nWhat You'll Do:\nThe CMM Operator is responsible for operating coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), executing and making routine edits to established measurement programs, and performing dimensional inspections of machined components to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.\nMore About What You'll Do:\nOperate motorized bridge CMMs and portable measurement equipment, including Romer Arms, Faro Arms, or similar systems.\nExecute established CMM programs and make routine edits or adjustments as needed.\nPerform first-piece, in-process, and final dimensional, visual, and functional inspections in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.\nInterpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements to select appropriate measuring equipment and evaluate dimensional accuracy.\nUtilize precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and other mechanical gauges.\nReview inspection requests, prioritize work to support production needs, and accurately document inspection results.\nIdentify, document, and communicate nonconforming material to production and quality personnel.\nMaintain inspection records, measurement reports, and documentation supporting PPAP and other quality requirements.\nPerform routine equipment checks, troubleshoot basic CMM operational and measurement issues, and escalate complex concerns as needed.\nCollaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to resolve inspection issues and identify opportunities for quality and process improvements.\nMaintain an organized work area and follow established safety and 6S practices.\nWhat You Bring to the Role:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED).\nMinimum of 3 years of hands-on CMM operating experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.\nExperience using CMM software to execute and make routine adjustments to existing measurement programs.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T.\nProficiency with precision measuring instruments, mechanical gauges, and dimensional inspection methods.\nAbility to independently set up inspections, evaluate results, and identify and document nonconforming material.\nStrong attention to detail, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.\nBasic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with CMM Manager software strongly preferred.\nExperience inspecting precision-machined metal components in a high-volume manufacturing environment.\nExperience with portable CMM equipment, including Romer Arms or Faro Arms.\nFamiliarity with PPAP, SPC, sampling plans, and manufacturing quality systems.\nExperience supporting corrective action and continuous improvement activities.\nWorking knowledge of 6S practices.\nAdditional Requirements\nFlexibility to work occasional weekends as business needs require.\nAbility to safely work in a manufacturing environment and perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.\n\nThis position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.\n\nWe consider several job-related, non-discriminatory factors when determining the pay rate for a position, including, but not limited to, the position’s responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, a candidate’s education/training, the position’s location, and the key skills needed for the position.
