If you're looking for an international, multidisciplinary and collaborative environment that offers a world of opportunities, come join us at DII.\nThe Role\nThe Hardware Design Engineer is responsible for designing and commercializing solutions and Non-Standard Accessories that allow MI’s products and services to be integrated into customers’ production facilities. This will include using CAD software to develop conceptual and detailed designs of equipment in accordance with the customer specific requirements and agreed specifications. Hardware Design Engineers interface with MI’s preferred vendors to determine the cost to deliver the designed solution, including all necessary regulatory compliance documents and provide commercial quotes to MI’s Pre-Sales and Sales teams. Upon receiving an order from a customer for the designed equipment/solution, the responsible Hardware Engineer will submit the necessary paperwork to have the appropriate part numbers created and made fully saleable in the appropriate countries and regions.\nJob Responsibilities:\nUsing the PTC Creo CAD software, complete component and equipment design in accordance with customer and project requirements and agreed upon specifications\nWork with Regulatory Compliance and Trade Compliance personnel to identify the applicable regulatory and trade compliance requirements that will apply to designed components and equipment based on Global location of the end customer and type of product being fabricated and sold\nWork with MI’s preferred vendors to determine MI’s cost to fabricate and deliver the designed product, including all appliable regulatory and trade compliance requirements\nUsing the defined processes and guidelines, develop commercial quotes for the designed product that will be delivered to MI’s Pre-Sales Engineer and Account Managers to be included in MI’s overall customer facing project quotes\nUpon receiving a customer order for a designed component/equipment, complete and submit the required paperwork and drive the component through the Part Creation process, known as Change Request/Change Order (CRCO)\nAct as PPOC for questions or issues that arise during the New Part Approval and Creation process\nUse the CRCO process to make existing parts saleable in new countries and regions, which may include the need to address regulatory and trade compliance requirements\nUse the CRCO process to source existing parts from new or different vendors\nWork with the group’s Product Manager to identify new products to add to the Regional Parts catalog\nAct as consultant/liaison to Project Managers regarding custom designed equipment and Non-Standard Accessories, providing progress updates regarding Part Creation and Equipment fabrication\nCollaborate with the Product Manager to identify preferred vendors\nCollaborate with MI’s Product Divisions to identify opportunities to globalize regional and custom solutions\nIdentify opportunities to use standard products and solutions in place of creating new parts and solutions\nSupport the other Hardware Design Engineers with the development of new designs\nParticipate in and lead Risk Assessments and Design Reviews when needed\nSupport management with the development and implementation of new processes to improve overall business performance\nIdentify opportunities to quote for professional Design services, and assist management with productization/commercialization of Design Engineering and Consulting services\nOccasional travel may be required but not routine\nQualifications:\nEngineering background with 5 to 7 years of experience designing components and machinery\nComputer Skills and aptitude for quickly learning new CAD software tools\nKnowledge of design principles and design development\nSome field experience involving the installation or maintenance of industrial equipment in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods industry\nExperience and knowledge of Product Regulatory Compliance\nMust be fluent in English, ability to speak and write other languages is a plus (but not required)\nMechanical, Aerospace or other engineering degree is highly preferred\nActs in a professional manner and enhances customer satisfaction\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels for the organization\nAbility to work in a multi-tasked environment\nDirect customer interface experience preferred\nDocumentation skills a MUST\nThe right candidate if you are aligned to our values and culture:\nCollaborative entrepreneurial spirit \nWinning through customers \nHigh ethical standards, openness and trust \nExpectations for results \nRespect and value people \nIf you believe you match our values and have the experience we’re looking for, apply!
