Headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois, Dover trades on the New York Stock Exchange under \"DOV.\" Additional information is available at dovercorporation.com.\nJob Summary: Develop and improve manufacturing functions and layouts for all PDQ facilities.\nMajor Responsibilities/Activities:\nPrepare economic justification for capital equipment procurement and installation.\nPrepare plant layouts and determine process flow.\nDevelop and improve manufacturing processes for assembly and fabrication.\nProvide manufacturing design support to R&D for manufacturability and cost reduction.\nAssist in the construction of new product prototypes.\nOrganize transition of new products from R&D to production.\nEnsure Assembly and Shipping Work Instructions are created.\nSupervise the design and coordinate the completion of Assembly fixtures.\nAssist in training personnel in proper Assembly techniques.\nPrepare pilot production runs.\nApprove part releases for Manufacturing.\nEstablish testing procedures and quality checks for production equipment.\nSet up required OSHA programs and safety inspection reports.\nEstablish and maintain required environmental compliance programs.\nDesign and implement storage and material handling systems for production.\nCoordinate with the Product Engineering Department for smooth transitions of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and effectively communicate these changes to the employees.\nPromote and participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives.\nObserve and enforce all safety rules and PPE requirements applicable to the area.\nExperience Requirements:\nComputer proficiency in a Windows environment is required, preferably with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.\nA minimum of 2 years’ CAD experience is preferred.\nPrior experience using Oracle or similar manufacturing software is preferred.\nUnderstanding of manufacturing processes associated with the production of engineered products is required.\nKnowledge and application of ISO standards in a manufacturing environment is preferred.\nExperience with implementing and driving Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.\nMust possess strong working knowledge of manufacturing materials and construction technologies.\nEstimating skills for manufactured parts cost and assembly time are preferred.\nKnowledge of OSHA and environmental standards is preferred.\nMust possess effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.\nBlueprint reading skills are required.\nElectrical testing experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.\nKnowledge of assembly methods used in all areas is required.\nPrior experience using Oracle or similar manufacturing software is preferred.\nMust possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.\nEquivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.\nQuality Responsibilities:\nInitiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process and quality systems.\nIdentify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.\nInitiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.\nVerify the implementation of solutions.\nControl further processing, delivery or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.\nEducation Requirements:\nA minimum of a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Industrial Technology is required.\nPhysical Demands:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to normal office conditions like telephone, personal computer, reports and files. The employee will also be exposed to normal conditions of a manufacturing facility. The employee will be required to talk or hear. The employee will be required to stand for long periods of time. The employee will use his/her hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will frequently lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 70 pounds. When working on machinery, employees will bend, stoop and crouch on a regular basis and constantly move about to coordinate work.
