OPW is part of the Clean Energy & Fueling segment of Dover (NYSE: DOV).\nThis role is based in our Whitsett manufacturing facility and has a base schedule of Wednesday through Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.\nAll About This Role:\nThe Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting and testing components, subassemblies, and finished products to verify conformance with engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. This role supports the manufacture and assembly of valves, regulators, and related products by identifying nonconforming material, maintaining accurate inspection records, and supporting consistent product quality and reliability.\nThe Work You'll Do:\nPerform first-piece, receiving, in-process, and final inspections of components, assemblies, and finished products.\nConduct dimensional, visual, and functional inspections and testing in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, inspection plans, procedures, and applicable standards.\nVerify workmanship, assembly, identification, and other product requirements prior to release.\nInterpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and basic geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) requirements to determine product conformity.\nSelect and properly use appropriate measuring and test equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, thread gages, and other inspection equipment.\nIdentify, document, segregate, and communicate nonconforming material and product in accordance with established quality procedures.\nSupport investigation of quality issues, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and verification of corrective action effectiveness.\nMaintain complete and accurate inspection, test, and quality records to support product traceability and compliance requirements.\nSupport the calibration program by verifying calibration status of inspection and test equipment and maintaining associated records within the calibration system.\nApply established sampling plans and inspection methods, including statistical process control (SPC) techniques where applicable.\nCommunicate quality concerns promptly and work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other functions to resolve product quality issues.\nSupport continuous improvement, 6S, and other quality and operational excellence initiatives.\nPerform other quality-related duties as assigned.\nWhat You Bring to the Role:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in quality, machining, manufacturing, or a related discipline preferred.\nMinimum 2-3 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.\nDemonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and basic GD&T.\nProficiency with precision measuring instruments, gages, and common inspection and testing methods.\nAbility to select and properly set up appropriate measuring equipment based on the characteristic being inspected.\nWorking knowledge of sampling plans, SPC, and basic quality systems and concepts.\nExperience identifying and documenting nonconforming material and supporting problem-solving and corrective action activities.\nStrong attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy in inspection, documentation, and recordkeeping.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to recognize and communicate potential quality concerns.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with manufacturing and technical teams.\nWorking knowledge of 6S/5S principles and practices.\nProficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel and the ability to learn electronic quality and calibration systems.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience inspecting assembled mechanical products, valves, regulators, pressure-control equipment, or similar precision-manufactured products.\nExperience with functional, pressure, leak, or performance testing of manufactured assemblies.\nFamiliarity with LPG, NH3, compressed gas, pressure-containing products, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.\nASQ Quality Inspector certification or similar quality-related training/certification.\n\nThis position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.\n\nWe consider several job-related, non-discriminatory factors when determining the pay rate for a position, including, but not limited to, the position’s responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, a candidate’s education/training, the position’s location, and the key skills needed for the position.
