This collaborative environment delivers FRESH THINKING, reassuring our customers that they choose the best when they choose to work with the people of Dover Food Retail.\nJOB SUMMARY: Inspects in process and receiving variations according to specifications on drawing by visual or instrument determination for defects and conformance to machining specifications by performing the following duties.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)\nVisually examines and feels the surface of products to detect defects such as mismatched veneer, dents, splits, blemishes, loose and uneven joints, holes and faulty sanding etc.\nVerifies conformance of products to dimensional specifications and determines causes of deficiencies.\nRecords quantity or material approved and rejected on inspection report.\nUses tools such as calibers, micrometers, hardness tester, comparator, surface plate, height gauge, spectro photometer, torque gauges, ohmmeters, etc.\nMay be required to drive a forklift.\nOther duties may be assigned\nParticipate in 6S duties to maintain work areas in safe and organized manner.\nUses simple formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specification schedules, or writing diagrams.\nKey Competencies :\nAbility to work with minimal supervision.\nAbility to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.\nAbility to effectively problem-solve using problem solving tools and techniques (A3, fishbone, root cause, 5-Whys)\nExcellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.\nHigh School diploma and one year tech school or two years of experience related inspection field.\nMust have solid computer skills including use of Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint. Experience in creating and maintaining spreadsheets for inspection purposes.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.\nThe employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.\nThe employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nMust be able to work in an office environment as well as a manufacturing/production shop environment as job duties require.
