This collaborative environment delivers FRESH THINKING, reassuring our customers that they choose the best when they choose to work with the people of Dover Food Retail.\nJob Title: Senior Product Engineer\nLocation: Richmond, VA\nWhat we’re looking for:\n\nWe are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Product Engineering team who will be responsible for our Door and Frame product lines.You will be responsible for sustaining engineering tasks supporting DFR’s Glass Door and Frame product portfolio. You will be supporting product design in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate strong engineering rigor, problem solving skills, and ability to drive engineering projects to completion to satisfy business and customer expectations.\nWhat you’ll be responsible for in this role:\n\nExecution of engineering deliverables to satisfy project/task timelines.\nAssisting manufacturing in troubleshooting production issues related to product and component design.\nUtilize 3D CAD software to create and revise components as needed.\nPrepare Bills of Material (BOM) to define required components and coordinate engineering activities to support project timelines.\nEnsure designs comply with codes and agency listings (UL, NSF, DOE), Collaborate with external agencies, if needed to understand the impact of compliance and regulations on products and include those as part of specifications.\nPrepare preliminary and conceptual designs for customer submittal drawings.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams on process and product improvement projects.\nManages projects from end to end including scoping, resource allocation and management, project planning, task assignment and tracking against project plan, assessing risks as well as project reporting. Ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.\nAbility to identify and mitigate the technical risk within projects.\nAbility to manage multiple projects, demonstrates capability to solve difficult and complex problems, collaborates with a cross-functional team\nTravel to project sites as required for engineering deliverables (Domestic TravelWhat are the basic qualifications?\n\nBachelor’s degree in engineering\nMinimum 5 years of engineering design and development experience (3 years and a master's degree; or a PhD 1 year experience)\nWhat are the preferred qualifications?\n\nExperience with product design and solid modeling in a manufacturing environment.\n5+ years of engineering experience in refrigeration, air conditioning, dehumidifier, sealed-system, airflow thermal management, or similar, design theory and application\nExperience in practical application of Six Sigma and Lean tools.\nProject management experience in designing, testing, and launching new designs.\nTo be a great fit for the role:\n3D CAD expertise as well as PLM experience (Solid Works & Enovia preferred) \nHands-on experience in a fast-paced, customized manufacturing environment \nPrevious experience reviewing mechanical designs for improvements. \nStrong technical skillset, good problem-solving skills with a drive for results, good written and verbal skills.\nAbility to build peer relationships and work independently.\nMust be action-oriented, ethical in value, and have a strong customer focus. \nHow We Define Our Values and Why You Should Join Our Team:\nThe backbone behind our collection of outstanding businesses is a team of dedicated employees who protect and enhance our valued reputation for quality and deliver what we promise.
